He got on the PA system and started telling everyone that the drivers' union was going to strike on Monday. Then he started naming off the routes that would be shut down which included all the ones I use. He also said all express routes would be shut down too along with all the light rail and shuttles. I was getting pissed!!

I checked the websites and the news, called the bus company...there isn't going to be a strike...

Like my shrink says, there are a lot of crazy, functional people out there.

I set my barbells, dumbbells, and free weights out by the dumpster today to get ready to move. I posted an AD for free craigslist telling all who wants it to come get it. Then, I walked to the liquor store. When I got back there was a traffic jam in my alley of people wanting the weights.

I am glad though, anything you can keep out of the landfill is beneficial to mother earth.

I have been wearing them all day and I swear, they are just as comfy as a high quality sneaker!!

about 15+ years ago, my paternal Grandmother died. I was never close to her, I could count as many times on one hand that I saw her.But she left me $300.00!! I took that money and took it to imi jimmi here in Denver and bought my first and only doc martens. Gawd, I am getting old.

On Edit:The boots didn't cost 300.00...they cost 100.00 plus tax. I forget what I used the other 200.00..probably for life

Gina Cavallaro, staff writer, for Army Times, announced that the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, (NORTHCOM), as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005, for example, when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana, several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas.

But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.

I have been fascinated it it ever since I heard about it. I would love to have my Grandmother make up a batch with her famous spaghetti sauce. It just sounds like a clean, healthy, filling meal.

Keeping track of your carbon footprint could become as simple as slipping a mobile phone in your pocket: a London-based start-up company has developed software for mobile phones that uses global positioning satellites to work out automatically whether you are walking, driving or flying and then calculate your impact on the environment.

Carbon Diem's inventors claim that, by using GPS to measure the speed and pattern of movement, their algorithm can identify the mode of transport being used. It can therefore calculate the amount of carbon dioxide that a journey has emitted into the atmosphere – without any need for input from the traveller.

Then just go here and find a debate watch close to you. I did, and found a debate watch just a couple of blocks from my house. And for you single people out there, it's a great opportunity!!!

after they were closed for 7 months for renovation. They had a nice satellite clinic for the time being but the co-ordination between the pharmacy and the clinic itself was a little awkward. I can't wait to see the new clinic! I have been going there for 18 years.

I have been looking for a place that I can move into that is already established and I can bring my three cats. No takers. So I guess I am stuck here for the winter. I said this before, but I committed myself to give my cats a forever home and I am not going to get rid of them.

It's just that this house I am renting from my Grandparents is falling apart at the seams and they won't spend the money to fix it. My roommate is a liar and thief and I want him gone, but he planted his ass down and dared me to evict him. I called the police and because he has been living here for over a year and a half and is getting mail, I have to take him to court. It just sucks. I am really upset about my living conditions right now. No water, no washing machine, the ceiling leaks in three places when it rains or snows. I have to be careful where I keep my hearing aids and Ipod lest they get dripped on by water. I just want my own studio apt downtown with my three kitties!!!

Thanks for letting me vent. You guys rule!

For first time, flu vaccine aimed at key spreaders — children.

WASHINGTON - Lots of youngsters on your street? Watch out: Flu may strike your community sooner and harder than it hits the hip singles neighborhood down the road.

Flu-shot season begins this month, and for the first time vaccination is being pushed for virtually all children — not just those under 5.

It's a huge change, and one bolstered by provocative new evidence that children are key flu spreaders. Over four winters, Harvard researchers matched hacking adults' visits to Boston-area emergency rooms with Census data for 55 zip codes. Flu-like symptoms struck first and worst in the zip codes that were home to the most kids.

KEEP THEM GERM SPONGES AWAY FROM ME!!!

Just kidding. I got the flu for the first time in my life in 1998. Caught it from a friend of mine who's asshole of a boss wouldn't let her take sick leave from Subway Sandwhich! She just came in, said "hello, i am sick, leaving now" and she left...36 hours later I was down for the count! Can you imagine all the people she got sick making sandwhiches?

Ever since then,I make sure I go to the HIV clinic very early in the season and get my shot. I even caught the flu a few years after getting my shot and it wasn't so bad..instead of five days being down and out, it was only one day. So it's totally worth it. GET YOUR SHOT!! GET IT EARLY!!!

after being on again and off again with my last ex for two years. He's cute, 33-years-old,studying to be a nurse, and he lives in Boulder. I am taking the bus out to Boulder this week-end. This will be the first time we had privacy together. The other times we met up it was at a restaurant or a bar.

The only thing I have a problem with him is he likes to PDA. I don't like to do that because someone will call us names and I have to get pissed off. Not to mention, a redneck would think nothing of grabbing a baseball bat and smashing a couple of queers he sees holding hands.

I hope he doesn't mind if we don't PDA.
