With all the turmoil at OWS events, i have to wonder why there aren't arrests or strong police action at Tea Party events. Most of these have guns on display and disgusting vitriol, anger, and border-line racism. Yet there is never any strong arm tactics from the police.

Sooner or later, the Repugs are going to win the levers of power, be it the House, Senate, or the Presidency or some combination of these. Given how much they destroyed under bush's 8 years, what should our majority put in place to impede future GOP caused disasters?

Some thoughts from me:

- Supreme Court: we need to get a majority of Liberal or Progressives on the bench.
- Media: this is hugely important. We need to get an honest, objective media in place otherwise the lies will continue
- Military: get the Foxnews and other right-wing propaganda out of the military channels
- Healthcare: it should be made more Universal

What are other initiatives that will impede what seems to be the GOPs mandate to destroy America?

they would crumble like crybabies in a real war. let them go fight in Iraq and see what a real battle looks like.

these militias feel powerful shooting at animals and mouthing off against President Obama who's trying to get them health coverage and saving the world economy from the disaster caused by their great bush.

they:
- stole the Presidency from Gore and probably from Kerry
- started an illegal war based on lies
- destroyed the US economy and caused a massive recession
- revealed the identify of a CIA agent
- more than doubled the debt in 8 years
- did everything they could to stop healthcare

the gop is treacherous and stupid. they should dissolve as a party.

the Senate or even the House i believe got either 0 or at most 1 or 2 votes for the healthcare bills. how can anyone even ask the gop if they are serious.

the question i must ask is: are the Democrats serious about passing meaningful healthcare for Americans (most of whom support you)? if the answer is yes, why are we not using every procedure available to pass the legislation - with a public option or medicare buyin - and having you sign it?

sarah palin is a retard - not in the disadvantaged sense - but in the commonplace definition. She's an idiot, a fool, an imbecile.

we seem to flame each other when we call names to those who attack the innocent and poor (think limbaugh and palin here). meanwhile they're laughing all the way to the bank. this must be why we can get healthcare through with 55-59 senate votes (i'm even considering wafflers here), the house, and the Presidency.

Like the repug planning during the Clinton years, when the bush brothers usurped the political system in Texas and Florida while keeping the rest of the country busy with a useless impeachment effort against a truly elected President, they are again gathering to steal back power.

We better understand this and embolden leaders and speakers on the left to preserve Democracy in this country. I can't believe when people criticize anyone on the left for speaking the truth about repug stupidity and treachery. Listen to the bullshit that comes out of limbaugh, hannity, coulter, cheney (makes me sick just typing their treacherous ignorant anti-American names) and compare that with the well-reasoned and intelligent arguments from commentators like KO. KO wants to provide for the American people. The repugs idiots want to destroy and marginalize.

Several things i've noticed by the right-wing, repug machine. They have no decency, they cry like babies when anything happens to them, they are complete hypocrites, many tend to have a lower intelligence than liberals, they do not care about the sacrifices of true patriots (did any of the imbeciles i mentioned earlier serve in a war?), and they will stop at NOTHING to get power and use that power to hurt many, many Americans.

We better secure American values and institutions, otherwise we will see another era of ultra-bush like stupidity again.

KO has the intelligence and decency to call out repug evil. that's all repugs are. they are denying healthcare to the needy. how can all the repug senators be against a bill that has already been watered down to win their support. as per this example, why bother trying to work with repugs. they are useless, and will not work with us. we need to win the votes and work with the majority of American voters who are decent and hard working people.

I hope we win the Senate race today, but i'm perplexed that bush the idiot could govern like a king with a one to two senator majority (at most), while we're running scared with a majority of 18 Senators. Are we truly that disorganized and ineffective?

... and bush did this while there was tremendous evidence that both election 'victories' were manufactured (stolen)

... and bush turned his utter incompetance in allowing 911 to happen under his watch (recall the repugs ignored all warnings of the impending attack that Richard Clark kept trying to tell them about) into a repug strength in protecting America.

wtf?

over nothing while the repugs under bush should have been impeached for

- lying to get into war
- exposing the secrets of a CIA agent
- torturing prisoners
- giving untendered billions to haliburton and other companies that repugs like cheney held options and/or stock in

the joke is that repugs are not going to jail left and right and these morons have the audacity to still show their treacherous faces in public.

the coward cheney has said more publicly since leaving office with his tail between his legs than he did in the 8 years he was hiding in office and destroying Democracy. i guess he's left his hiding place of 8 years.

In recent years i've had the scary thought of lieberman actually having become the VP in 2000. With Al Gore's governance, 911 would probably have been avoided, the economy would not have collapsed, and we'd be well on the way to reducing pollution. lieberman would have incorrectly received a lot of good will from Al Gore's solid performance and lieb may have won the election in 2008. That is a scary thought.

The more i examine this imbecile, the more he seems to be a cheney clone. both are evil, treacherous, self-serving, cowards. Both continue to hurt America.

Yes, i know i'm shouting. but i'm sick and tired of creeps like lieberman and his ilk hijacking an imperative program for millions of people who need healthcare.

The Senate should assemble a bill for the people - expand medicare, build a public option, and remove favorable status for insurance companies.

Then the Senate should stop all business that is non-essential until the mid term elections. With our other majorities, we can at least count on fairer elections than in the past. Let the voters pick the next senators and see if enough come on board to overcome the fillibuster.

In the meantime, demote lieberman and any other obstructive blue Democratic Senators.

The insurance companies drop coverage for sick people, do not insure people who have been sick (isn't that the point of healthcare?), and deny life-saving operations for those who are covered. And yet the right-wing hypocritically accuses us of proposing death panels?

30,000,000 citizens that we know of do not have healthcare. Millions more have restricted healthcare or be tossed out of insurance programs at the first sign of sickness. We spend more money on healthcare than any other country. And yet, people who are affected by this are screaming with fear that any form of Government care would be bad for them.

How stupid have we become? People are making billions off this flawed system that leaves people DEAD.

Despite this, we have blue dog democrats holding up reform. We have repug leaders LYING about what is currently available and what reform would bring.

It's amazing that there even needs to be a debate, let alone a long and heated one. What does this say?

we are going to lose in 2010 and again in 2012.

this is the time to remove the bias that the repugs instilled in our institutions.

this is the time to support organizations like ACORN (after they are cleaned up) so that they can ensure the poor gets a chance to vote.

this is the time to fix the right-wing bias in the media.

this is the time to end the wars the right started illegally.

this is the time to pass healthcare for all.

this is the time to make society fair again.
