in spite of the fact that the worst brutality against #Occupy has occured on their watch, at their order:
Los Angeles: Villaraigosa, Oakland: Quan, Boston: Menino, Denver: Hancock, Seattle: McGinn, Portland's Adams... NY mayor Bloomberg was a long-time democrat, changed to repub, and is now independent. Not really a Dem. Our elected "representatives" are attempting to kill us and in a few cases have very nearly succeeded. At MINIMUM, they are attempting to force the movement out of existence. The root word of the democratic party is Democracy. I'd sure like to see some, from both them and from their blinder'd supporters. In this case, #Occupy, change is GOOD.

#Occupy Calgary recently lost their battles to maintain their encampment. Protesters packed up their belongings, cleaned the site, and turned the moment into something magnificent, instead of a struggle...they and a local artist left a new sculpture at the site...from an #OccupyCalgary member: 'the placque reads: 'Presented to the people of Calgary, as a lasting monument to the suffering of all humankind, and our unceasing desire to overcome'".

https://www.facebook.com/notes/occupy-phil... BREAKING NEWS ALERT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 9, 2011, 2PM OCCUPY PHILLY OCCUPIES A UNION-BUSTING NURSING HOME AND COMPANY HEADQUARTERS Occupy Philadelphia members are right now occupying the corporate headquarters of Presby’s Inspired Life. Presby’s Inspired Life is a local nursing home chain that refuses to allow its hard-working nursing home employees to bargain a fair contract and is trying to destroy their union. Although employees voted by a wide majority in April, 2010 to join SEIU, they have been without a contract since, and leaders in union organizing have been fired or pressured to leave. Presby’s Inspired Life has retained the law form of Saul, Ewing, a notorious union-busting firm, to negotiate with workers. The employees of Presby’s Inspired Life include many immigrants from the Caribbean islands and West Africa, honest and hard-working people who came to this country to live the American dream. Many work multiple jobs just to get by, leaving them tired and exhausted and unable to care for nursing home residents with their full energies. Because of a tense, antagonistic relationship with nursing home management and an intimidating work environment, these nurses and aids are distracted from focusing on delivering the best care to their elderly and infirm charges. Although Presby’s Inspired Life is incorporated as a non-profit, it had revenues of $4.1 million in 2010 ($1.3 million for just this one home) and paid its President and CEO, Judee M. Bavaria, over $400,000 in total compensation in 2009, even as the global recession battered businesses. It recently received an $8.5 million HUD grant but refuses to use our taxpayer money to pay its workers fairly. Presby’s board includes members of the Presbyterian Church and is headed by the Rev. Paul S. Stavrakos, but it hasn’t acted very Christian towards its fellow men and women. Occupy Philadelphia calls on Presby’s Inspired Life to bargain a fair contract that would raise standards for patient care and respect the worker's union and seniority. Let these hard-working people get back to helping our parents and grandparents with the most of their energies. Occupy Philadelphia will occupy Presby’s corporate headquarters to let its management know that union-busting is disgusting. When: NOW, Friday December 9, 1:00pm Where: Presby’s Inspired Life Corporate Headquarters, 2000 Joshua Road, Lafayette Hill, PA Who: The 99% Media Visuals: Occupation of Presby’s corporate headquarters, signs, peaceful protesters Interviews: Protesters and peaceful occupiers, Presby’s Inspired Life nursing home workers. (MODS: As a press release IIRC it's okay to fully copy and paste here?)

cops nation-wide have been dishing out to #Occupiers? They are heros. They are braver than I am. I've left #OLA twice when KKKops showed a vibe going toward kettling and arrests. I am a coward. THEY stood their ground and TOOK BACK their Constitutional Rights.
Make no mistake. This is a war, and they are heros. What they've done makes it easier for US to do it ourselves, the next time we are challenged. And challenge us they will, until we win.

(FWWM: If you've been good, you obviously have nothing to fear. I do however remember one LAPD officer aiming his less-than-lethal rifle directly at OakFoSho's face during the raid upon #Occupy Los Angeles. That, and the cruel and unusual punishment of over 292 citizens whom you are supposed to protect, and having trashed the 1st and 4th Amendments, which you are supposed to uphold. Checks and balances? I say "Rodney King". And my respect to all decent peace officers, you are appreciated and we are there for you if you are foreclosed upon, or if your rights are ever removed. And, my great appreciation to those who have reminded any monsters that they have the responsibility to act and to be both human and humane. Such is the goal of all members of any sane society.)
Article: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-la... LAPD commanders' personal information posted on website By Andrew Blankstein, Los Angeles Times December 8, 2011 Personal information about more than two dozen members of the Los Angeles Police Department's command staff was anonymously posted on a website, officials said Wednesday. The LAPD is investigating who may be behind the site, which listed officers' property records, campaign contributions, biographical information and, in a few cases, the names of children and other family members. In the last few months, hackers have tried to break into the servers of several public agencies including the LAPD, the Fullerton Police Department and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.

and our representatives are passing legislation to allow indefinite imprisonment of any American citizen? That #Occupy is on England's terror list? (Low-level.) That KKKops have been bludgeoning and terrorizing people nation-wide, over and over, relentlessly, for expressing their First Amendment rights? And in the process, having their Fourth Amendment rights destroyed as well?
These are only some of the facts. It is easy to leap ahead to something dystopian. It is also easy to get out and fight the very forces seeking to destroy us. Our sheer force of numbers WINS.

DECEMBER 8, 2011, 5:48 P.M. ET NEW YORK — Mayor Michael Bloomberg says a New York congressman should spend his time getting the city more federal funds rather than calling for the government to investigate the police crackdown on the Occupy Wall Street camp. Earlier this week, U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler urged Attorney General Eric Holder to launch a probe into allegations of excessive force used by NYPD officers against Occupy protesters in Zuccotti Park last month. The mayor issued a statement Thursday calling Nadler's position "ridiculous."
