Josh Groban has been in various recording studios preparing his new album. One of the songs for the album is reported to be a song of protest and reconciliation titled "Weeping" that he has recorded with Ladysmith Black Mambazo (They performed on Paul Simon's Graceland). Within the melody of "Weeping" is “Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika,” the Black South African anthem. Although now the official national anthem, back in 1987 (When "Weeping" was first recorded by Bright Blue) anyone caught playing “N...

"There are other opportunites that I want to pursue," Worthington said Thursday. "It's been a privilege and honor to serve the people of Mississippi." Worthington refuted rumors that he was forced to resign, saying the decision was his own because he wants to spend more time with his family. ------- Where have ...
When will the collective conscience of this country finally break out of the great depression of knowing what we have become and move to action to become what we should have been before greed became our national diety?

C'mon, someone tell me this guy's gonna run in '08. (Image) He's pretty much everything I'm looking for in a candidate. George Clooney as VP would be sweet icing. Ok, I'm dreaming.
(Image) Looks like we're in the midst of it. Our next risk day is Thursday. How are you all faring?
I think I'm to the point of narrowing down my date of departure. Sometime in May. My brother and nephew are coming to visit in about 3 weeks. They are going to do some work on my little camper to get it roadworthy. It got beat up pretty bad after the hailstorm and little tornado. (Image) My son has now offered to come up and pull the camper for me because my car probably couldn't. May is the best time for him to get here. I hope I can get myself together by then. I'm going simplified, ...

Heads up, BL'ers Episode Summary "Word Salad Day" / Season 2, Episode 21 Broadcast: March 28, 2006 It's a rough day in court for Alan Shore when he experiences an inexplicable case of "word salad" - a horrifying condition that causes him to speak unintelligible gibberish. Meanwhile, Denise Bauer defends a polygamist whose wives believe their husband has done nothing wrong and are willing to fight for their belie...
Anyone not aware of the workings of the town, it's filled with theaters, restaurants and hotels that cater to tourists. There are always way more jobs (non-skilled labor, mostly) than people to fill them. Now they are soon to open up the Branson Landing, a convention center with shopping mall and boardwalk by the lake. At present, every business I know is understaffed. It's common knowledge that you can quit one job and walk across the street and get another. This way of life has spawned th...

Hollister, Mo. - The Western Taney County Fire Chief is calling a fire at a church suspicious. The blaze began just before midnight at the First Baptist Church which is located in the 400 block of Presbyterian Street (Link) There was a 19 year old who was severely burned and who is suspected to have started the fire. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 90% of his body. Guess no one told him if you play with fire, you get burned. Karma is a bitch.
BRANSON -- Four people died Monday when a plane crashed into a storage unit near Highway 76 in Branson. Adams said the pilot reported problems and radioed the tower at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. Witnesses said they saw the plane's wings wobbling on the aircraft as it began to descend. The plane crashed into a storage unit south of Highway 76 at the intersection of Aaron Way and Highway 165, behind the Ripley's Believe it or not Museum. It was lucky the plane hit storage units, ...
Marc Bolan made some outstanding boogie rock magic. I hope if anyone is making money from the commercials using "Get it On", let's hope it's family. Not whoever made away with the T-Rex monies. snip By 1977, Bolan had began to suspect all was not well with the management of his finances and decided to act. Fate intervened. At 5 a.m. on Sept. 16, his purple Mini, driven by Jones, hit a tree on Barnes Common, south London, killing him and badly injuring Jones. He was two weeks short of his ...
To the point of informing on the "traitorous" David E. Kelly to Speedy Gonzales. ----quote---- "I have written a letter to Attorney General Gonzales to make our government aware of the acts of DEK which I believe borders on sedition.. I do not do this out of hate but out of love for America and I think DEK because of his liberal upbringing may not be aware of his evil acts. This is a intervention for DEK and I hope he wakes up." ----/quote----- (Link) Whiney little rat bastards. Boo fuckin...
I keep it around and I feel as long as I don't get hungry enough to eat it, I must be doing okay.
"What I'm most sick and tired of is how every time somebody disagrees with how the government is running things, he or she is labeled UnAmerican... And speech in this country is free, you hack. Free for me, free for you, free for Melissa Hughes to stand up to her government and say stick it... I object to government abusing its power to squash the constitutional freedoms of it's citizenry and God forbid anyone challenge it, they're smeared as being a heretic." Alan Shore/Spader (Image)
It could have potential for some truths tonight. -------- "Stick It" When Alan Shore's secretary is arrested for tax evasion, he takes on the case of the outspoken woman, who says her late, patriotic grandfather would be proud of her for challenging the government. -------- Stick it, indeed.
Expecting Round 2 in a couple of hours. Here's what 4-10 (drifts?) inches of ice balls look like on a 78 degree day. (Image) After an under-reported tornado near Branson, MO yesterday. (Image) Broke a bunch of windows and took out both my side mirrors and tailight. Luckily the car windows held up. The house windows didn't.
I just now got back on line and now we are in another severe thunderstorm warning. First Katrina, now this! There are areas down the road that STILL have 6-8 inches of hail 3 hours after the storm. What makes matters worse, everywhere the hail lies it causes a thick zero visibility Stephen King fog around it. I only have one pic come out on my digital. Took some pix on my film camera too. I may have to run again quick. We're okay but we have a lot of broken windows. This is nothing comp...
In Anderson, Missouri at a funeral for another soldier. This will be the test of the new law against protests near funerals. Evil rat bastard leave these already victimized families alone! I wish they'd put that mf in jail and lose the key. Rest in peace, Pvt. Christopher Marion, thank you for your service.

Me neither. (Link) snip A massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that has escaped widespread notice provides graphic evidence that damage done by last year's hurricanes poses an ongoing problem for the Gulf's oil industry and coastal environment. A double-hulled tanker barge now drained and floating upside down at a dock off Mobile Bay was responsible for what appears to be one of the Gulf of Mexico's largest oil spills, which received scant attention when it occurred after midnight Nov. 1...
