You ask: "Do you believe the founding fathers never intended the people to have the means to repel a tyrannical federal government by force, because that would be treason?"

I believe the intentions of the founding fathers on the issue of treason are very cleared by who and how someone is to be tried for the crime.

As for the Articles of Confederation, anyone who thinks the US Constitution did not expand federal authority needs a history lesson: The new Constitution, unlike the Articles of Confederation, granted Congress power over foreign and domestic commerce (including the interstate commerce of guns!!!) and provided means for Congress to collect money from state treasuries, both of which were significant expansions of the federal government.

The friends of this family will tell you that because the family can't:

COCKEYSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police yesterday charged a 15-year-old boy with fatally shooting his parents and his two younger brothers as they slept at their home in a suburb north of Baltimore...........

On Friday night, he went into the house after other family members were asleep and shot each of them using one of his father's guns, which was in the house, police said.

Source: Al Gore's Web Sight as Carried by Rawstory

"I think that gay men and women ought to have the same rights as heterosexual men and women, to make contracts, to have hospital visiting rights, to join together in marriage," Gore said. "And I don’t understand why it is considered by some people to be a threat to heterosexual marriage to allow it by gays and lesbians. Shouldn’t we be promoting that kind of faithfulness and loyalty to one’s partner regardless of sexual orientation?

God Bless Al Gore. Finally, a politician who says the truth, speaks the truth and has the political courage to say what is in his heart.

Thank you Mr. Gore. Thank you for your courage, your conviction and your advocacy for those whose voice is drowned by bigotry and hatred.

Truth is on our side.

Right..........

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071206/ap_on_...

What is the gun industry and select NRA DU apologists going to do to insure this doesn't happen again?

Nothing. No new proposals. Business (in the truest sense of the word) as usual.

Got it.

Who Needs Law Enforcement When You have a Gun and You Can Do It Yourself?

Simpson named suspect in armed robbery

By KATHLEEN HENNESSEY and LINDA DEUTSCH, Associated Press Writers 2 minutes ago
LAS VEGAS - O.J. Simpson says he went into a casino hotel room only to retrieve memorabilia that he felt was stolen from him. But police are investigating it as an armed robbery and named the fallen football star as a suspect Friday in yet another surprising chapter to his legal saga.

That's one and 1/3 rifles for every man and women in our Armed Forces currently serving in Iraq.

The arms race continues. I can't wait for them to hit the streets our country. Good grief.

Yet another reason why DC gun law is appropriate. No doubt some will think the Second Amendment protects this lunacy:

Is this not a forum about ........guns?

Shoot straight, but it's on target and topic and has been as evidenced by the numerous posts from people over a period of days who have opposing opinions about the AK-47 and current legislation before Congress about this and other weapons.

...........The gun nuts in this state could care less about gay rights.

Their tactic is divide and conquer. When gun rights advocates in this state help enact employment and housing nondiscrimination laws and hate crime legislation protecting the GLBT community, then they can speak about the merits of carrying a gun in a gay rights parade and march right along with us as brothers and sisters united like Log Cabin Republicans and Stoneway Democrats protecting us from those who truly want to do harm to this community.

Otherwise, they are full of sh*t.

From today's New York Times Editorial:

'It should not require the shedding of innocent blood to shame Congress into showing the spine to take on the gun lobby, but that seems like a good description of the sorry state of affairs on Capitol Hill."

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/17/opinion/...

Aiding and abetting criminals:

They condemn the Tiahrt amendment authored by the Kansas Republican, which limits the ability of federal officials to release data showing the path from manufacture to retail purchase of a gun that was recovered in a crime.

Can't wait to hear the gun lobby's position on this one..........
