glowing's Journal - Archives
They treated it like a "viewer's comment" section. They showed the video, then the reporter sat by a computer with selected viewer's comments from the web.... Essentially, they refused to call Bush on his hand shake and then wipe on Clinton's sleeve. Instead, they selected a few comments of "that was funny", "I don't know what that was?", and finally ending up with the, "knowing Clinton's history, Bush is more likely to catch cooties from Clinton than any handshake could."
So, a national embarrassment of Bush wiping his hand off on Clinton's sleeve caught on the BBC news reel has caught enough attention that the media now has to report that it happened. However, rather than call out this embarrassing fool that was installed as pResident, they made it a light feel-good story and wrapped it up by changing the direction from Bush's embarrassing actions onto Clinton. Media really sucks.

hearing about Bush and the campaigning that he did AND for more expensive private venues. All of the politicians do campaigning while they are in office. Barack Obama is one of the most popular presidents and popular "get". He could charge more than Bush did for his plated dinners if they wanted. Remember the different categories that Rove coined $ donors?
Its the little digs. The snarky headlines. The making a story out of no story. They could have just stated that the President is campaigning today in MA and will be here and here with a headline that says "President Obama in Mass today", and maybe even said, "the last time he was there was for his vacation and for Sen. Kennedy's funeral." Instead, they make it seem like a President doesn't campaign while in office. Or somehow imply that his campaigning is taking the eye off the many things he is over seeing. AND that it is partisan. MEDIA sucks. Also, that Twitt is on and Pat seems to have the second chair on the weekends. I'm now have local snooze on.

Mon Sep 22nd 2008, 12:05 AM came from the rag of a show on Bay News 9... She, I believe, was the only black face I saw in the crowd.. and hadily admitted the show was in the villages and was Republican country... She, apparently, is affraid to venture into Miami and Tampa and Orlando.. I guess most of those cities don't look like her home town of Alaska... they sure know how to use meth though.

Sat Sep 13th 2008, 07:46 PM First, it was nearly impossible to find. In the area the area that I live, it should be really visible. It was small and there were 3 younger people manning the helm. They never asked for my name or number. They gave me a local coordinator's phone number. They asked when I could volunteer this week, and then said those days were inconvenient because they had training at another location. I think Gov. Palin would have gotten a warmer reception.
Edit: I was looked at below the eyes an awful lot.. even by the women.. sometimes people assume features mean that a person is shallow. There are a number of other things I would do to make the campaign gain better traction in this area, but I'm not a paid staffer AND I suppose Obama knows what he's doing... they just don't want to use me. Edit: Ok, taking out parts of the post... It still felt very awkward to be looked down upon..

Fri Sep 12th 2008, 02:37 PM An ad on a Country-Western radio station in the Tampa-Bay area. So, when exactly did Republicans embrace or fund stem-cell research? How do they get to lie? Isn't there some kind of ethics review of campaigns to make sure that they do NOT lie or distort. If I'm a dumb-ass redneck, now I think they support stem-cell research (whatever that is, it sounds like a good thing).

Thu Jul 31st 2008, 06:45 PM So, on hate radio today what have we learned:
Our O'Reilly Talking Point Memo: (straight to you from Mr. Rove) Ludacris Obama's New BFF... He also has total creative control over Mr. Luda's album and personally wrote that little bit about McCain being in a wheelchair and Hillary's a beyoootch. Well, not really.. but the talking point for today and coming soon to a water cooler near you, Obama is buddy-buddy with Ludacris. Their association (I guess because they share the same skin color) is all about being hateful, angry and don't forget BLACK!!! Hide your daughter's before Obama's got them on GOTV wearing skimpy clothes and shaking their ass. As for Dr. Savage: He has decided that the end of September and all through October they will be bringing back Rev. Wright. Essentially, Rev. Wright is on the equivalent level of a Ku Klux Klan leader, who would also be leading a sermon that somehow John McCain would be attending the service of for 20yrs. Now, I didn't know that John McCain went to church.. I thought the fundies felt someone who divorced and married the woman they were cheating on their wife with would be struck down by a lightening bolt upon entering a church. Also, is Dr. Savage now calling Rev. Hagee and some of the other's John McCain sought out, a Klu Klux Klan leader? Please feel free to add to this edition of Know Thine Enemy... Know them, so they don't win.

Wed Jun 25th 2008, 07:42 AM things that are written about him.. Don't ask me why I get e-mail dump from my 80yr old grandma...who is voting for Obama.. I guess she just forwards everything without thinking.. and there are a lot of these older people who click and send without a thought... I'd like to know who originated this one:
Subject: Fw: Pearly Gates At the Pearly Gates, St.. Peter is checking up on the people waiting to enter Heaven. He asks the next one in line, 'So, who are you, and what did you do on Earth?' The fellow says, 'I'm Barack Obama, and I was the first black to be elected President of the United States.' St. Peter says, 'The U.S.? ......... A black President? You gotta be kidding me! ..... When did all this happen?' Obama says, 'About twenty minutes ago.' (absolutely disgusting)

Fri Jun 13th 2008, 09:00 PM its not clear until a moment has passed that it makes any clarity....
Last year, on my 28th birthday, I called my grandmother. She had a rare bone cancer. I decided that I needed to go home; that's what I wanted for my birthday present. It quickly proved to be a trip home to say goodbye. In a short amount of time, she lost her fight with cancer, and I literally raced from the plane to her side at the hospice to let her know she could go and be with grandpa again... to dance across heaven together again. I realized a week ago that Friday the 13th shared my birth month this year. I have felt that something large and big and sad would become of this day. I only hopped it wasn't within my own family... It appears the nation has lost a journalist, and a family has lost a father and husband... and only now does that feeling make any sense.

How far we have come in Amerika: http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/tp... ...
alone they then responded that if I didn’t go into the hall I would be arrested and I said Ill just leave the hospital and go home and they refused me the right to leave the hospital as I turned around to speak to the people behind the counter they all three jumped me shoving me into the counter and then threw me into the brick wall head first cutting my scalp. They then threw me to the floor with tow cops retaining my arms pinned to the ground I could not move them , the third was on my back yelling for me to put my hands behind my back and I could not respond as I had lost my breath with the person on my back, but I did hear my wife yell “DON’T DO THAT HE IS A HART PAITIENT” then I started getting hit in the ribs several times and in the kidneys one of the officers let go of my hand as I was trying to say I cant and I immediately moved my hand to my back where they twisted my other hand behind me handcuffing them together. This is only an excerpt.. There is the gentleman's version and then an account witnessed by his wife... In the wife's version, they were about to tase him when she screamed at them he had a heart condition... This escalated to this point because of inadequate VA care from a splinter.. You have to read this... I can't believe this story hasn't hit this web site or any news sites.. It needs to.

The Star Spangled Banner came on the radio as I was driving to work. Of course it would, being Veteran's Day and all. I sat parked in the space at work to finish listening. Suffice to say, when I hear the song, I have this visual of a man sitting in his holding cell, having lost everything, only to see and feel hope re-surge and pride run through his body and idea of freedom holding true. The last lines, land of the free, home of the brave, resonate and transcend through time and ages of The People gaining an ideal.
Today, I don't feel brave and I certainly don't feel free. I want to cry, and did so in the car because I have not lived up to the words and the ideal that is America. I have not fought hard enough or sacrificed enough to make this land truly the home of the brave and the land of the free. I have not worked hard enough to bring this war to an end. I have gone to a few protests and I vote (not that seems to matter much these days) and I have prayed with all my might for this tyranny to end. These things are not working. We have been shown what people's will do to protect their freedoms and the sacrifice they are willing to endure to ensure their freedom. Just this week in Pakistan when Martial Law was imposed, people took to the streets, knowing that they would possibly die to gain freedom for their country. Buddhist monks took to the streets to protest their tyranny, knowing they would be violently attacked. What do we do? We go shopping... Did you see the sale papers today? Loaded with Holiday savings like it is Black Friday. Veteran's Day, a day to solemnly and respectfully appreciate the men and women who have sacrificed with their lives throughout the entirety of America's history to protect and ideal. Well, when are we, Brave Americans, going to protect the men and women in the service? When are we finally going to stand up and say enough is enough. No more blood or money for corporate profiteering! When are we going to end our tyranny? When are we going to stop this madness? On the other hand, there's a great sale at mall, so I guess I'll see you there, my fellow Shopping Americans, in the Land of Debt.

Just heard on the news that Charlie Crist says if Floridians don't start spending then Florida is going to be in a Recession. How the hell do we spend, when we can barely live Charlie? Why don't you insist on a raise for everyone... $6.67 is barely a wage.
Part of the problem, as well, is lack of tourists. With the country on a squeeze, Disney is not an option for most people right now. Isn't it funny in 2005 when they had a surplus of funds and couldn't figure out what to do with the money. How the times have changed with 35% of homes sitting empty and Disney looking like a ghost town. Too, bad the city councils re-zoned their family style beaches to make way for the mega-plex condos that are sitting like open lots waiting for rich people to buy into their million dollar properties.
