I thought we have asked or mentioned this for a few months now.
(I am not bashing the mods for inaction, because they may have criteria for establishing a forum that I am not aware of.)
But I also thought we had kind of coalesced into a small corner of an similar forum to pursue these topics further...
anyone recall where that is?
I am just thinking of the bounce we may get from the stim bill and that it would be a good time to make SMART CHOICES about our individual abilities to live SUSTAI...

youth and circumstances being what they were, I did the best I knew how... and my frustration is because I get tired of people having compassion for the dads, when the moms are left holding the bag and dealing with the destruction left in their wake.
Just Like you are judging me for "not having my head on straight" ...so obviously I am at fault for making the choices in less than superior men...and not giving credit for surviving in less than superior situations! but you would rather fee sorry ...

The sheer extravagance of the Banks that have received Bailout monies is repugnant.
and we are all sitting here, citing the new stories that turn up every day of these wild parties, executive salaries, etc And the congress crittrers have even jumped on the bandwagon to say a few nasty things here & there...
But it hasn't stopped them, has it?
So, here's my new idea.
It is a little extreme, but when things are heading into the toilet, we may as well send em down there with a m-80!!!
1. Go to...

Wed Jan 21st 2009, 10:06 PM I was asked this today by a friend who was doing an informal poll in her office, interesting results.
So let's see...who heard a 'one liner' that made them sit up and take notice?
Who remembers a striking image or story or idea that grabbed them?
Yesterday was so powerful in so many ways. When you have THAT MANY people united in a common thought and feeling of love andhope and unity, how can good things not happen? I myself really bawled when he finished his speech and huggd his family... all ...

"we're gonna need a WAAAAY bigger boat"
I agree that the biggest change about to come out of this whole thing is going to be a shift in the fundamentals of how we view money, spending, etc on a global and personal scale...
we have been far too indulgent and living of our credit cards for everything from that big flatscreen we "gotta have" to the basics of food, gas, etc...
and out country has done the sam...

Mon Dec 15th 2008, 02:37 PM Hey all-
One of the things I do as a freelancer is work for my favorite mentor/shaman/transactional analyst, and all around wise woman...doing basic marketing, local stuff, website changes, and prepare and co-facilitate groups and workshops.
We are starting to branch out from just the quarterly circle group, and the occasional vision quest and solstice gathering, drumming, etc to try something new...

You know, as long as I can remember Israel and Palestine have been shooting eachother and setting off bombs in public places.
Now, I just tune out when I hear it...like it is so common I am just numb
Iraq, same story
(insert name of country here) - (insert # here) of people were killed/injured today when a bomb went off in a (school, market, church, mosque...etc...)
An idea has been running thru my head lately that somehow this has to just stop. Here in our country, we have no idea what it...

I must disagree that this change is in any danger. It is because of a little something I think they call "critical mass"
Besides the number of those who voted for mccain because of their fears, known & unknown,
the actual numbers of people who believe in their deepest hearts that this could be good ...is more than we can imagine.
The numbers of people in this country and around the world who are loking upward to what our potential COULD be as a humanity of pesce and hope and invention is far g...

Thanks Joanne 98 for bringing this article up...
(Link)/
The article talks about poverty increasing in the suburbs, but doesn't really go deper to the root of the disease or the real effects. Part of which is not only the credit/debt house-of-cards society we have created, but that wages haven't grown to meet the needs of families. Our society is based on a two income household...what happens when two isn't enough?
... I think Poverty is more than ...

Dear President –Elect Obama & staff –
I have several pressing issues, but the one that seems to get in the way of my forward motion to succeed is completing my education. I need to know if the service program will help me get back to school & complete my degree.
I am 38 years old and went to school in my early 20’s as a single mom of one, while on the welfare to work program. I graduated but was never able to get to a university because the fear of how to raise a kid in a different city all al...

I am hoping beyond hope that the numerous stories I have read and heard of are being pursued already by Obamas Camp and other legal parties..I pray that there will be such a turnout that they won't DARE...
that the lines and crowds should show them what they are up against and that the American people are THAT far gone...we are SO over their hideous policies that we CAN turn the page.

My sister is about 5 years older than me. We have always been pretty different. I am the expressive one, trying to "find myself" and having many jobs and lifestyles in that search...while she did exactly as she was trained to do, get a good job, credit, husband, etc...
Now, her and her husband have a pretty nice house in Washoe Co. she works full time and he is home to take care of the kids since he is on permanent disability (3 back surgeries...) They have a boat, cars, and TONS of debt...beca...

I just moved in Sept, so I went ahead and did a change of adress and re-register online ... Just got my actual sample ballot and where to vote info in the mail on Saturday...
Went to the PO Box today, and there is a mailer from the "League of Conservation Voters Education Fund" that encourages me to fill out their form and vote by mail, avoid the lines, don't miss work, etc...it looks like just a request for an absentee ballot... but isn't there a deadline for that? Don't you have to have a goo...

I am so upset by the recent turn of events at the McCain rallies. But not as much as by something my mom said today and that she has said throughout the campaign. (even though she is voting for Obama, she is in her 70's and from the deep south, so she has a tinge of white racism..I know she means well most of the time but still says things that aren't very enlightened.)
She said "you know, if Obama isn't elected, "they" will be rioting..."
today I told her of the recent developments at the McC...

Dear Senator Obma –
There are several words and talking points that are going around these days. One word I would love to see you use again & again is SUSTAINABLE / SUSTAINABILITY
You know our world is changing. The way we do business, the way we travel, the way we use oil in all means of production, our way of working and living HAS to change if we are to save our planet and its population. We need to get back to doing things on a more reasonable level. The hugeness of the banking and agricultu...

...anywhee...all the money we have been using for the past couple decades is just on a computer screen or in a databas. if the shit really hits the fan, the poor wil not be cared for, they will be rounded up and left to "end for themselves" like the Native Americans on a reservation. And the they are sanctioned and econoically crippled so they can't function in the "real world economy".
Ya, just expand the programs for the poor, that in itsef is just increasing the number of indentured servant ...

I am poor, will still be poor tomorrow, still be poor next week...I don't see this changing anytime soon.
I have yet to hear anyone spell out in REAL terms what his means to me if we just tell these bastards to fuck off and take it like a man, if they wanted to gamble, let them lose. LET THEM !!!!
Bailout my ASS...we are not being heard, for all our emails, faxes, protests...the "negotiations" are continuing and there WILL be a bailout...
SO WHAT WOULD REALLY HAPPEN if there WASN'T one? I he...

he told me he was on his way to nevada to help with a ballot intitative... I gave him a BIG thank you!!

Honestly, the worst storm I saw was a winter blizzard w/ winds over the ridges of 80-100mph, but only about 60-75 mph gusts, no sustained winds like this.
This is amazing to watch, the insane power of it! I am horrified and praying for anyone in their homes...I can't imagine the terror.
...and I have to say CNN is really doing a bang up job, covering different areas, and showing the difference betwen the experiences. It's interesting seing Rick Sanchez out there, he's being a little stupid, st...
