to be expected from anyone on the political horizon, no matter the party.
We have allowed the party of the people to devolve into a co-conspirator that would have us all as slave labor feeding the wealthy, a country where those that have nothing to contribute to the wealth of the few are left to perish as useless eaters. A country where bloody empire for the profit of of an out of control military industry and a thriving new mercenary industry are gorged on the blood of those that are no threat to us in any military sense. A modern form of feudalism that is developing before our eyes. Without a party to protect us from the unwavering desire of some to re-create this nation as a neo-feudal fascism it's rebirth will continue unabated on it's course toward the neo-feudal goal. They are beginning to see that they are on their own now against the purchased post-partisanship that will lead us to that goal faster or slower, but on the same course, ever rightward ever more cruel and ever more a threat to their well being and happiness. We are almost there and there appears to be nothing to stop it. I blame us that are on the front of liberal thought for allowing our party to so easily be taken over by the republican castaways that dare claim to be more than what they are, purchased lackeys of the wealthy elite. I blame myself for allowing myself to be used as shamelessly as any trailer park GOP member that would support and vote for what is demonstrably against their best interests and the interests of over 98% of the citizens of this country. I blame the party faithful for so easily adopting and even cheering well known and deeply damaging right wing policy simply because they follow the party line (policies that they are well educated about and once fought against). I blame the party itself for being so easily bought and co-opted by the policies of the Heritage Foundation and The Chamber of Commerce simply for a pittance in campaign contributions. Without a party to oppose the neo-feudalists, what is left to stop them? What can we do? What can YOU do? WHAT THE HELL CAN I DO! The last sentence describes not only my feelings, but also the feelings of a growing number of citizens that can not help but see what is happening because it grows more blatant every day.

If the religion of that doctrine is Libertarianism or Neo-liberalism or some other politically sacred "ism" it really does not change the fact that it HAS become the doctrine being followed by (for quite some time now) the Republicans in power and now due to a complete shift in the Ideology of the Democratic party leadership, the Democratic doctrine as well. It also happens to be the doctrine of the corporations that continue to benefit greatly from it
The problem really is however (for the neo-liberals) that the believers in the Democratic party platform strongly oppose this doctrine and are thus labeled blasphemers (the fucking retarded fringe professional left) by the adherents of this selfish doctrine that now lead their party. It is a game being played to steal our retirement, our health care, and in many cases our basic human freedoms so that the extremely wealthy that created this doctrine can gain possession of yet more wealth. It is time to remove the addition to the large tent that was a cast off piece of cloth from the Republican party, it is foul smelling and spreading its rot right to the ridgepole of that tent. It is time for the tent to house and protect only the adherents to the principles of the party platform and stop including those that are possessed of ideologies contrary to that platform, they are more accurately described as corporate Republicans and should be sent home. Even if there are those here enamored of their false promises (and yet oh so telling actions) they are not worthy of defense from any but those on the right that agree with them. There are many that do carry their water and I find them do be a problem in their own right for justifying the stench and helping to spread it.

Those on the left will have to either become begrudging corporatist and support them hoping to teach Keynesian economics to those that refuse to learn (in my opinion a quixotic adventure)
Or else we will finally have to face the fact that the party we have been trying to bring back to it's former glory of standing for the people, their rights and their livlihoods has now finaly after all attempts to revive, died on the table. It is now a corpse propped up next to the Republicans to maintain the illusion of a choice. Even if the corpse wins it will only be used as a vedntriliquist dummy for banks , oil, and military talking points. We have to stop holding up the corpse like some political version of weekend at bernie's. and admit that we must gather together in the wilderness and ally ourselves with the Unions the workimg poor and the poor and begin the work of forming a party that will stand for what Democrats once did, revive the platform of FDR and give it not lip service but support and expression in legislation submitted by a third party, The son of the Democratic party so to speak, now that it has died and left us with simply another Republican alternative, it must be reborn or be lost to history. The Corporate political employes have stolen our name for their abomination. So we will be forced to choose a new one, perhaps Labor Party, or just go with the Socialist Democratic party. It will take time, but we are getting nothing but Reagan and worse from the corpse right now, so we have finally reached a point where we simply have no other options left to us except to breathe life back into the principles and ideas that fought back the last assault of the super wealthy. If we just go along to get along with either party all we will get is neo-feudalism. I prefer to fight for the only ideas that brought shared prosperity and a moral and secure nation. The corpse is dead, any more time spent on it is time spent on our own destruction. They will only bring us third world wages without security, a land where only the ultra rich can know security and joy. If this fails, it will only be a matter of time before the hungry and sick that can not get help will explode in numbers and then explode in bloodshed. Once the rich prince said "let them eat cake" or more precisely, "let them eat peas", they stopped hiding the green skin of the corporate corpse as the stench became too pungent to continue to ignore.

We both know they are more than IOUs so stop pretending, If you borrow you must pay back what you owe, stealing money from the guys wallet to pay him back is not an option if our bonds are to mean anything at all, the truth is that any obligation of debt that is owed from the budget is owed from the tax cuts and wars that borrowed the money from SS and OTHER creditors. It is not the obligation of the Chinese or SS to pay the debt that is owed to them.
If I borrow 20 dollars out of my rent money for beer, I can not just tell the landlord I will pay him less when the first comes around. To renege on any debt turns your credit to shit and anyone that says it is OK is plainly condoning theft. Did the budget just steal the money or did it borrow it? Which is it? You act as if it was the government borrowing from itself when in fact it was borrowing from the actual people (individuals) that placed there money there via FICA specifically to be payed to retires including each one of those individuals that payed it. We that payed into FICA should not be stolen from any more than any other creditor should. If the policy is to steal from creditors then do so to all creditors equally. Theft is not an option, sorry, if it were, then our credit really would be shit.

nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice."
"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." You only need to have gone to High school to understand what many in this nation consider worth fighting for and why we are not so comfortable with certain "compromises". EOM

Sat Dec 13th 2008, 11:33 AM The U.S. Senate adopted a cloture rule in 1917 that requires a two-thirds vote of that body to end a filibuster. It is the only method to force the end of debate, it assumes the participants will continue debating otherwise.
You do not appear to know the definition of the word filibuster, I can help you with this. Filibuster The term used for an extended debate in the Senate which has the effect of preventing a vote. It works to prevent a vote because the Senate's rules contain no motion to force a vote. A vote occurs only when debate ends naturally. The word comes from the early 19th century Spanish and Portuguese pirates, "filibusteros", who held ships hostage for ransom. When a Senator filibusters, he/she holds the chamber hostage until it meets his/her conditions. http://www.house.gov/waxman/glossary.htm What you may infer from my comments regarding Reid has nothing to do with the reality of my comments. I "implied" nothing of the sort (incorrect or otherwise). I simply stated the obvious - that Harry Reid has made a habit of folding to the threat only of a filibuster and then moving directly to a cloture vote without bothering to test the will of the minority in an environment where debate may end naturally via lack of will on the part of the obstructionists to debate for days or weeks the "virtues" of positions that would be unpalatable to the voting public if the bluff were called. (a habit as yet unbroken, so I consider it a rule of his leadership) You see, due to your lack of understanding of the definition of a filibuster, you are under the mistaken impression the republicans are actually filibustering, they are not, they have not. Reid has not required them to, he requires it would seem only that they threaten to. What do I expect from Reid? To require them to filibuster rather than merely threaten to in order to get their way. If it is so easy that a mere threat produces the same results, why they may do something silly like merely threaten to filibuster over 90 times or something and just get their way, no one would expect him to be that ineffective of a leader would they? Of course not! err maybe you, and possibly Harry Reid. spelling edit
