it will be rich vs. poor.

Look at what happened at the state capital building in Washington. The day is fast approaching when mama's will not be able to afford to feed their babies. And, when that happens, the revolution will be upon us.

The problem with our government is not that the House of Representatives is controlled by Republicans. The problem is that the House, the Senate, the White House, and the courts are controlled by THE RICH.

If you expect the government to start looking out for the poor, you are living a pipe dream.

That's why you won't see Obama suggesting making Social Security solvent by simply lifting the cap. Won't need to raise retirement age, or cut benefits to do that.

That's why you won't see Congress act to end oil speculation by requiring that before a barrell of oil be resold, the seller must first take possession. Oil has become, not a commodity, but stock. Speculators have a big interest in seeing the price of oil go up.

That's why you wont' see state legislatures pass minimal hikes in sales taxes to fund education, but rather cut teacher pay and furlough working teachers. The rich don't want to pay their fair share for an educated workforce.

I predicted a revolution in this country in our lifetimes the other day, and many of you laughed. Some of you assumed I was in favor of a revolution. I didn't say either way. I just predicted that it was coming.

Some of you assumed I was talking about the fight betweent the left and right in this country. I was not.

The revolution is coming. It will be rich vs. poor.

And, lest you think that in such a scenario that the government would turn the military against those revolting, let me remind you...

there aren't many rich people in the military....and, they won't turn their guns on their mamas and papas.

The rich should take heed to what they are doing to the poor in this country, and change their ways.

I doubt they will do that, however. So, my predicition stands.

Revolution in most of our lifetimes.

If President Obama has to defend DADT because its a law on the books, does he not also have an obligation to investigate admitted war crimes of the past administration?

If he fails in his oath to uphold the constitution by not defending one law, does he not also fail in his oath to uphold the constitution if he doesn't defend another against those who blatantly break it and admit to it?

And, significant ones at that. Under JFK, the top tax rate was a whopping 92% on all income over $400,000 dollars. Unemployment was low. We ought to raise the tax rate to at least 90% on all income over 2 million dollars. Rather than paying those taxes, those making that kind of money would give that money to charity, and HIRE people...because they could do it at 10 cents on the dollar!

We would see unemployment drop, and those being hired would be paying taxes as well. We would solve the deficit problem, and be able to pay teachers, and hire more, as well as police, firefighters, etc.

We ought not only let the tax cuts expire on the wealthy. We ought to raise the top rate significantly.

Beautiful bride, if I do say so myself. Lovely wedding. Enjoyed a father's dance with his daughter. So, the day was great.

But, I have to tell this story. My wife and my other two daughters left the house early to help get things squared away with the caterer, florist, photographer, etc. I stayed home a little longer to take care of the dozen dogs we foster.

Well, I get the dogs up and start getting ready for the wedding when the doorbell rings (I'm upstairs). The dogs go crazy barking. I look outside the window and see a brown van parked out in front of my house. I decide to ignore the bell.

A full minute and a half later, the doorbell rings again. Same people. I quickly put on some blue jeans and a t-shirt to go downstairs, thinking that if they don't go away the dogs are going to keep up a racket.

As I get to the door, it rings again. I'm a little ticked that they hadn't already left by this time. I open the door a crack (I don't want three of the dogs who run loose in the house to get out) and see a man and a young boy (maybe 8) both dressed in suits and holding Bibles and a Watchtower magazine (Jehovah Witness).

I say out the door, "I'm sorry, but I'm getting dressed for my daughter's wedding, and I don't have time to talk with you."

The man snidely remarks with a smirk on his face, "Is this the usual response you give when people like us show up at your door?"

I'm really pissed off now, and I say, "Sir, I'm getting dressed for my daughter's wedding, so NO THIS IS NOT MY USUAL RESPONSE! MY USUAL RESPONSE IS, 'I'M NOT INTERESTED. DON'T COME BACK!' I then proceeded to close the door in their faces (the young boy looking at me like I'm going to hell for being so rude to his daddy--imagine that!)

Note to Bible Thumpers: Insulting the people you are trying to "reach" by suggesting they are lying to you doesn't do much for your cause.

Anyway, I'm sitting here now eating a piece of wedding cake, thinking of my daughter on her honeymoon night.

Peace.

I'll see you all sometime after my vacation to the Chesapeake Bay. Going to do some fishing, some golfing, watch some semi-pro baseball, catch up on some reading and visiting with old friends, and catch fireworks on July 4..

See, you thought this was going to be a "good-bye for good" thread, didn't you?

Everyone have a happy celebration of Independence Day.

Love you all,

Rat

Click on the link above and watch this video. Especially fun, after you watch the first time through is to minimize the window and just listen. There are NO INSTRUMENTS on stage for this choir. The "drummer" does all of the percussion with his voice. A thunderstorm is created in the first couple of minutes. This choir sounds like there is a band backing them up. NO INSTRUMENTS.

There are some talented people in this world!!

CAIRO (AP) — A 25-year-old Egyptian man cut off his own penis to spite his family after he was refused permission to marry a girl from a lower-class family, police reported Sunday.
After unsuccessfully petitioning his father for two years to marry the girl, the man heated up a knife and sliced off his reproductive organ, a police official said.

<snip> (no pun intended)

More here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2009-...

-------------

It seems this guy didn't want to marry the woman arranged for him by his family.

All I've got to say about this is: "I bet that guy doesn't have the balls to do that again."

(Sorry, couldn't resist)

Conyers was in such a damned hurry when issuing the subpoenas. We were told over a month ago that he had secured the testimony. So, when the hell is it going to happen??

I mean, this is an admission that Republicans are allowing taxpayers to pay their mortgages, is it not?

Wouldn't you think that Republicans would ask:

Honk if I'M paying YOUR mortgage?
