In tobacco-industry parlance, does that not mean "Aimed squarely at kids?" Don't get me wrong: I finally pried myself away from Dragon Age: Origins, which struck me as adult-oriented in its subject matter, but accessible to kids. You can be "evil" in that world, but there is nothing like shooting up an airport full of people. Regardless of any "repurcussions" (i.e. collateral damage) the PC might suffer, this seems to me like straight-up youth conditioning. Ewww.

How smart and witty are you all going to feel when the true purpose of this shell-game reality-show called "The GOP Presidential Race" is revealed? It's not that hard to see that, with control over both the House and Senate, the GOP can do even more damage to "big-government" in Obama's second term than they did in his first.

By all means, keep gawking at the idiot parade while the GOP quietly takes over the Senate.

... informing me that there was a problem with my ATM card... something about "internal security"

I didn't pay much attention because I have NEVER at any time had an account with them. I have been a credit union member for over a decade.

On a somewhat related note, I did go into their downtown San Diego branch with a friend the other day so she (who also does not have an account with them) could send some money to a friend. On the kiosks where you get your paperwork together before an audience with the teller, there was a big basket of SUCKERS! (Bwahahahahaha!). We both laughed out loud at this. When I audibly noticed that the calculators provided at the kiosks did not have enough digits to do some simple math such as dividing the $75 trillion in derivatives BofA just dumped on the taxpayers by 300 million (approximate population of the US), a dwarfish woman in a power suit lurched out her office and leaned against the wall, arms crossed, to see if we were going to start any trouble. Aside from informing the teller that we wanted to withdraw $75 trillion dollars ("just kidding, we want to send one of your customers $40"), the only trouble we caused was our nearly non-stop laughter until we were out the door.

The air smelled so much better once we were outside.

It is a generally somber affair. The SDPD has pretty much beat them down into the pavement. Pretty much what I would expect to see in my hometown. Yoyossarian and I gave them all of our spare $$$. The protesters who remain are either homeless, dedicated or both. I'm going back for Thanksgiving and I'll do whatever I can to help.

Historically, challenging the status quo in San Diego is the same as wearing a "kick me" sign on one's back. There are more than enough people there who are happy to interpret that literally.

Are any Senate races in your state getting any media attention at all?

I believe that they don't give a hoot about the Presidency; they are doing enough damage by having Obama in office. They want to keep the House and get the Senate, hence the current freakshow. It keeps the attention away from their real goals.
