As long as you asked I will explain my opinions.

I will agree that he will be the Democratic candidate for president in 2012.
Are better democrats out there?? Probably, but they are not coming out and running.

You complain about people attacking Obama and the job he is doing. Well it is my right and obligation to attack politicians that I feel are not doing their job and not protecting this country and its people. You speak of obstacles. They are obstacles only if you let them be. They are not road blocks. Obstacles are just detours to where you want to go. I feel he uses these as roadblocks.

The American people have elected presidents to be the leader of their country. The good or great leader has to have a very clear vision on where he/she wants to lead this country. The leader has to be willing to work with everyone to bring this vision to fulfillment. If that fails they need to step back and look for other ways to get there. If it means fighting, then that is what they must do. If they are not willing to fight and get bloody then they have no business being president. A president asks others that they be willing to die for their country, a president has to be willing to die for the country also.

Obama gives pretty speeches of his vision and sits back and either waits for others to do the work or gives too much away to make it seem like something was accomplished because the obstacle was too much.

Transparency: This administration is more closed than the last one. More closed door meetings that are closed to the people.
Unions: Are being attacked everyday by this administration.

I have yet to see this president fight for Democratic principles. If you want to say that these principles have changed then what you really are saying is that the leaders have changed their principles. The people are the party and not the leaders. My principles have not changed, if they have they have become stronger.

He should take to the airwaves and attack all the lies that the republicans spew. They do not seem to have any problems using press conferences, twitter, facebook, the internet.

I will vote for him, but in reality I do not feel he gives a damn what is best for me.

This country has to decide what is more important
Is it the people or business entities??
Is greed and power more important than humanity??

I feel that the elected officials, the CIA, the military
have overstepped
We create more terrorists than we kill
We kill more civilians than terrorists
We destroy whole towns
We fund people that work for the CIA and then we call them terrorists (bin Laden)
We do not have the right to kill civilians just because they are meeting someone
A drone attacked a convoy of cars, when all they were doing was driving to a far away town
Women and children died, because some person (idiot) 10,000 miles away 'thought' they saw a gun
These are countries were people live in tribes and they carry guns
Terrorists and Patriots are the same people just on different sides of the same fence

I feel this country has lost its soul because they are so afraid of not being #1
that they have forgotten what it is like to determine how you want to be governed
Democracy is not determined by the end of a gun

I really think a country is a country and a group is not a country
The republicans are a terrorist group, are they a country?? I think not

In 1953 the CIA with government approval toppled a duly elected democratic country
to help out an oil corporation owned by a foreign country
They installed a torturing dictator
After so many years the people finally said enough and took their country back
Since then the US has meddled in the affairs of the Middle-East
The people are finally pissed enough to fight back
We call these people terrorists but in essence they are just fighting for the freedom
to determine their own destiny
We used to call these people Patriots back in 1776
Not all the people are fighting this country but it seems we really do not care
because we kill innocent civilians every day and all this does is create more Patriots

This country kills, maims, try to destroy countries every day and get pissed off if someone tries to do the same to us
seems a little miss guided in the thought process

You have the CIA running around shaping foreign governments by killing people
operating above the law, running drone attacks, creating terrorists,
and then you have this government saying we need protection from these evil
people that might be a different color than us, and then you have the religious fundies
saying how evil these people of a different color than us and they might have a
different religion than what they believe so we need to tighten up our borders
to keep these evil people out so you might have to give up some of your rights
but that is okay because you will be safe

And while we are at it we might have to control some of people here because you never know.

Everything is connected and our government hides behind National Security
The CIA operates as a separate government with either no oversight or very little
We have become the enemy.
We have become a closed society where the elected rule this country and taken the rule out of
the hands of the American people

You ask the importance of the issue and I will answer by saying it is just the one of the symptoms and not the disease
the disease is hidden from view and we need to cut out the cancer of hidden government
for this country to move forward

McCain May Run for President
Fox News …..
September 29, 2011

This just reported in by AP, that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), on a trip to Libya, has stated that he may remain in Libya and run for President. He stated that he had presidential blood running in his veins and if the American people could not see that then he would search for a country and people that could.

Sen. McCain said, ' I have been around the world visiting countries and I feel I have finally found a place that can appreciate my god given right to be president and would enjoy my flip-flopping. I feel I could make a real difference here. I am an expert on American arm sales, I know all about illegals, and I know how to suck a system.'

When asked about the Senate seat he would be giving up he stated that my dear former running mate half term Sarah Palin would be perfect for the job. She was willing to step in if I kicked the bucket and could do the job as well I can. She owns property in Arizona now.

The Republican Party leadership when asked about this turn of events refused to answer any questions but left it up to the Kock Brothers to issue a statement.

Many Libyan citizens where asked their opinions on Sen. McCain running for president of their country and they for the most part were unsure exactly who this person was. Many thought he might be the man in the bazaar that sold the many flavors of tea. Or that he might be just another oil company executive. It remains to be seen if the Senator can pull off this coup.

@ TheOnion : BREAKING: Witnesses reporting screams and gunfire heard inside Capitol building.

That was quickly followed up by this: "BREAKING: Capitol building being evacuated. 12 children held hostage by group of armed congressmen."

Both tweets were retweeted more than 100 times. From there, The Onion continued to live tweet the "developments," including a tweet about a congressman buying semi-automatic handguns. It also posted a fake news report on its website, which it also shared on Facebook.

Capitol Police told the Washington Post in a statement, “Conditions at the U.S. Capitol are currently normal. There is no credibility to these stories or the twitter feeds. The U.S. Capitol Police are currently investigating the reporting.”

Congress Takes Group Of Schoolchildren Hostage
'We Need $12 Trillion Or All These Kids Die'

September 29, 2011 | ISSUE 47•39

WASHINGTON—Brandishing shotguns and semiautomatic pistols, members of the 112th U.S. Congress took a class of visiting schoolchildren hostage today, barricading themselves inside the Capitol rotunda and demanding $12 trillion dollars in cash.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), who has emerged as spokesman for the bipartisan group, informed FBI negotiators this morning that the ransom was to be placed in stainless-steel suitcases and left on the Capitol steps by 4 p.m. sharp. If their demands are not met in full, the 11-term representative announced, "all the kids will die."

~snip~

According to sources close to the 535-member legislative branch, Congress has recently fallen on hard times. Neighbors reported overhearing heated arguments going on late into the night about dangerously stretched budgets, a failing health care system, and the potential for an all-out government shutdown.

With the ransom deadline nearing and no apparent resolution in sight, President Barack Obama was summoned in a last-ditch effort to diffuse the situation. Despite an emotional bullhorn appeal to return to "honest talks aimed at reducing the national debt and getting millions of unemployed Americans back to work," the chief executive was met with silence.

"There's just no way of getting through to these people," said Obama, holding his head in his hands. "I know Speaker Boehner personally, and I know that he and his colleagues will not hesitate for a second to kill these poor children if they don't get their way."

There is also a poll there. I personally do not see what the problem is. Faux News tells falsehoods all the time,

He is asking for our votes
I will give him mine
I would assume 99% of the people on this site will give him their vote
Now comes the fun part
In his first term he said he could not do it on his own
He told us where he wanted to go and then changed course
I personally like to know where the leader is leading me
He changed course without telling us why
He and Congress have passed some laws to help the people
However I guess I am more concerned about the larger issues

Such as wars: We are now in at least 6
Jobs: Not much has been done on that front by either the President nor Congress
Torture: I wanted to see arrests and indictments
Education: I see Arne Duncan tearing down public education and the teacher unions
Banks: I am still waiting to see criminal charges against the terrorist bankers
People: I want to see people put first instead of corporations
Housing: I wanted to see a moratorium on foreclosures

In my opinion until the large things are resolved it really does not matter how many small things are passed if you do not have a job, a place to live, education, fair and equal justice, putting people first is the answer.

The President told us to hold his feet to the fire, to hold him accountable.
It is our duty to call out politicians when we see them doing something we do not like.
Be they democrats or republicans.
I am in a weekly fight with my republican rep to show me the facts that he bases his opinions on.

When I see this president doing things that I feel are hurting this country should I keep my mouth shut so I do not upset him??

People talk to me and say they worry about SS, jobs, and seeing jobs more out of this country.
I see this President playing around with SS by asking for a reduction in payroll withholdings, asking for three free trade agreements.
I do not see how these two things help pull this country forward. I wait for someone to tell me the facts in how these things help this country. I see funds coming out of the general fund to pay into SS to make up the shortfall. This adds to the debt and becomes something the republicans can attack. I see the free trade agreements adding to the loss of jobs. Panama becomes a safe tax haven for the rich. They have very lax laws there in regards to that. How long before corporations start moving to these countries. What do we have to sell to them?? Show me how these will work for this country.

I do not see this country moving forward at this time. Reagan asked if we were better off now. I know I am not and I look around and listen that many others feel the same way.

As you say constant negativity doesn't win elections. I would also say rolling over and not really fighting does not move this country forward. I would like to see this president come out fighting everyday, point out the crimes of the republicans and lose than seeing him let the republicans set the agenda.

The President speaks of fighting. He says these words and when it comes to sit down at the table he throws the fight out the window.
Why is that??
I have not seen him fight for me...... for the things I feel are important.
If it takes an angry black man to move this country forward then let's go........
You may say that is not his style then he has no business to tell others how to fight.
He promised on the campaign trial many things ....... he has come through on many but not the ones that define this country.
He lets torturers go free, he lets fraudulent bankers go free, he lets people lose their homes through fraud, he promised transparency in government but has shut the doors, he promised a better day and not fought for that. He starts more wars.

When there are people that state for the record that they want to destroy you, you do not day after day offer your hand so they try to gnaw it off. You fight back in the same way. Where is that man??

In my opinion there are more terrorists in the republican party, in Congress, in the states than there are in the rest of the world. These people are out to destroy this country and he does not see that. They are more of a threat to this country than the terrorists abroad. If he would redefine foreign policy and stop trying to change the world to the American view we would create less foreign terrorists.

I will vote for the office, but if he continues as he has the first 2 1/2 years the vote will be for the office and not the man.

One goes out for two years and talks all tough and then when they get the job nothing happens.
I look at running for office as nothing more than applying for a job. They fill out a job application by making speeches and promises.
And then they say, Oh it was just campaign promises and the people let them get by with that.
If that was any other job the person would be fired. The republicans do not seem to have any problem signing contracts and then following through.

This president for over 2 1/2 years has fallen down on the job. He lied on his job application. He has 1 1/2 years left to prove he is worthy to be rehired. Others will state that all one has to do is look at all the good he has done. I look at those things and say so what if gays can marry and serve in the military, if they have no job, no place to live, no food, no rights, what good does it do.

I say no more wars, cut the military, raise taxes, draw a line in the concrete and do not cross. Drawing a line in the sand tends to be too easy to erase and change.

a man of the cloth, religion.

If you feel it should be moved then alert and state your case to the mods.
I myself find nothing wrong with it here.

And He said onto the multitudes, "Lay down your hate, lay down your anger and follow me"
