I really like your idea Applegrove. Issue by issue, damn right. How confusing for haters. We don't just have one special little cause and that confuses the RW pundits.

She was obviously depressed and suffering from mental illness. These are the people who need help, particularly with their paperwork, NOT turned away.

For Heaven's sake.

The stupidest thing about racism, is that decades ago, when inter-racial couples got married and people (who claimed they were not racist) said, "Yeah, so they're in love, what about the poor children?"

Well One of them is the POTUS now, can we just get past all this?

We have to encourage him to keep it up. It's pointless to snivel about what he hasn't done up to now, OWS has lit a fire under the butts of all the Dems, seize the day and don't look back.

(except to put Bush n' Cheney 'n Rove in jail)

In Japanese this is know as 3 whites, as in when both white sides and the bottom white of the iris shows a lot, even when photographed at a direct angle. This can indicate disease or mental illness.

told us about his family's escape. I will never forget how he said that as they traveled, they couldn't drink from the wells and public watering holes, because they were tainted by dead bodies.
All of us in the class were in tears when he was done, just devastating.

when you apply to go back to college. I took all the math from there on up and got all As and Bs and I got my B.A. However I don't remember the important equations at all and only use the math I need in my life.

If however, I took this test as a tenth grader, I would have quit school sooner and I would have never gone back.

Some people live and breath math, others like me, are mathematically challenged.

I am an artist and a writer, and I respect the miracle of the human development of numbers greatly, and I get how the recognition of a pattern and an equation can simplify complex procedures, however, all these new "tests" are given too much significance.

In modern education there has to be a compromise between stiff and arbitrary tests and kid spoiling molly-coddling. The pendulum has to swing back a bit, and while they are at it keep politics and religion OUT of school management and back into history and social studies !!!

I was a BLUE state. I grew up in Detroit, I went to "Samuel Gompers" grade school.
Samuel Gompers was a Union Leader and activist and gave blood (like so many others) for the working men and women of the state and the country.
