This is about Nathan Bird who lost his life during the Indiana State Fair Stage collapse. He was up in the roof getting ready to run a spotlight when it came down. Being a stage hand is a hard living...stage hands work more in one day than CEO's do in a year. This note is from a fellow brother in the concert production industry.

I SPOKE WITH IATSE LOCAL 30 REGARDING A FUND FOR NATHAN BYRDS KIDS. NATHAN WAS THE SPOT OP WHO LOST HIS LIFE IN THE INDIANA COLLAPSE.NATHAN WAS A SINGLE DAD OF 2 KIDS AGES 13 AND 15. I WAS INFORMED THE FAMILY IS STRUGGLING TO FIND $$ FOR THE FUNERAL, CLOTHES FOR THE KIDS TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL AND THEY HAVE NO SCHOOL CLOTHES OR SCHOOL SUPPLIES, ECT. IF U WOULD LIKE TO HELP PLEASE SEND $ DONATIONS TO:

IATSE LOCAL 30
ATTN:NATHAN BYRD FAMILY
1407 EAST RIVERSIDE DRIVE
INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46202-2037

Thanks,

Rich

Just found this - one of my first posts on DU!
Because I have been listening to a lot of talk radio lately, I don’t know what I am anymore. I always thought I was a moderate with some liberal tendencies. But according to the radio that means that I am a communist and I hate America, U.S. soldiers, personal freedoms, history, baseball, truth and justice, not to mention many other things. I’ll admit that I don’t like apple pie, but I love my right not to like it.
So I am asking for your help. What am I? The following is a list of my various social and political beliefs:
Baseball is still the national past time
I don’t think you can have a tax cut and a war at the same time. Choose only one
Motorcycle cops should only ride Harley-Davidsons
Gay marriage will not lead to BI-species nuptials
The Patriot Act is a white flag in the war against terrorism
Every citizen has the right to bear arms
“Arms” should have reasonable limits
I am outraged about Janet
It should’ve been Brittney
War should be an absolute last resort
If you win a war, you should be able to keep the defeated country
More people should get involved in the Arts
We should have a low flat tax rate with a federal sales tax
Figure Skating is not a sport
The death penalty should only be used in cases with absolute proof, and then it should be carried out as soon as possible.
The minimum wage should be tied to congress’ salary – if they get a 15% raise, so does the kid at McDonalds.
A punter in the NFL should not be making more than soldier on the front line
I believe that every time George W comes out they should play “Fortunate son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival
There was a shooter on the grassy knoll
War should be financed through pay-per-view fees
Morality should be practiced not legislated
