After last week's convention I came home inspired and ready to hit the ground for Obama. I'm a student, and don't make a lot of money with my job since most of my hours are spent with school work, but I knew I had to contribute a small bit to Obama's campaign. It wasn't a lot, it was what I could afford... but I'm so happy to have made my first political contribution to campaign that represents change, and more importantly - hope.
As a young person who will be voting for the first time come November, this election means a lot to me. George Dubya has been in office since I was 10. Almost half my life in other words. I've grown up with a crumbling economy, with wars going on, and with distrust in my own government and fear that my civil liberties might disappear. We need change, and we need something to be hopeful and optimistic about again. That is just one of the many reasons why I support Barack Obama, and why I'm contributing what I can to his campaign.
Obama/Biden 'o8!
