Although it's my opinion that nearly all of these points lead to a more simpler truth other than mere political power, although that's the primary means for staying around long enough to enact the plans.
No, this is all being done to embody an ideology of pure, unadulterated "corporatism", for lack of a better word. Not just the Adam Smith ideal of the "invisible hand", but a total dependence on the idea that profit-driven self-interest is THE guiding force of the Universe. In their world, EVERYTHING must be OWNED by SOMEBODY.
And not just the idea of the "work hard and make your fortune" kind of capitalistic dream. I'm talking about the ones who've made it to the top and intend to stay there, come what may. Sort of like climbing the ladder to the top then pulling the ladder up with you.
There is NO incentive for these types to share the wealth, none whatsoever. They live and breathe for the preservation of their own lifestyles at the expense of the middle class and the poor. In fact, the middle class has more to fear than the poor. They're the ones who threaten them the most by competition for a rapidly dwindling market share.
But you're right in the sense that their attack is on so many fronts. The task of eradicating them will rely on educating the people that this is not politics as usual.
This is a major shift of the political, cultural and moral tectonic plates.
