DIKB's Journal
Popular Mechanics analysis.
After reading it, I can state this much: It's patronizing, simplistic, and doesn't answer all the questions. "A crashing jet doesn't punch a cartoon-like outline of itself into a reinforced concrete building, says ASCE team member Mete Sozen" This automatically assumes the people raising questions harbor ridiculous expectations. It does not address the lack of a scorched earth, the lack of debris (the tiny shard of metal they show is inconsistent with other plane crashes), the fact that the two titanium-steel engines, moving at the velocity mentioned, would have made similar impacts into the wall, leaving an oblong opening MUCH larger than the round hole we're supposed to accept.
They don't address that the BBC has interviewed a number of the supposed hijackers who are alive and well, yet the FBI hasn't changed the list of 19.
The 9/11 panel raises questions, and the fundamental argument is that we are being lied to. PERIOD.
I believe, as many here do that we are being lied to. Please explain your position, do you support the "official conspiracy theory" or something else entirely ?
who goes out and mows lawns for neighbors?
The child who helps their mother participate in a bake-sale?
The two friends who set up a lemonade stand and split the profits?
The man who pays his friend with beer for helping with yard-work?
At what point do any of these check the credentials/fair-wage earnings? Where does this ethereal blame end?
Large corporations and multiple abusers should suffer, not Joe Citizen. However much "Sally down the street" pays the gardener, does not affect the wage-earnings of everyone else. As the largest employer in the U.S. Wal-Mart sets the standard, rather low, I might add. This has a cascade effect on earnings throughout the competitive market. Libertarians and the like, want us to put our trust in "the market." The market has betrayed the average citizen, competing for lowest wages and highest productivity. Turning us into a consumer nation that cannot afford much else. As health care and retirement become things of the past, what do those shiny knick-knacks buy you?
I know immigrants who use the "Mexican retirement plan." It goes as such:
1) Earn in one week what you would earn in a good month in Mexico. 2) Save and send as much of that money home as you can. 3) Buy land and build a house for yourself and your family in Mexico. (most large purchases are paid in full, no payment plans) 4) Own everything and build yourself a nice little nest egg.
These are people who are trying their best to provide for their own, can you blame them?
So maybe I'm the asshole because I want to blame the corporate executives who have no shame in hiring illegals, who skirt the social security number/name verification, who are making record profits year after year, while reducing the strength of Unions, and reducing worker's rights!!!
All because I don't consider "Sally down the street" JUST as guilty, is THAT REAL enough for you?!?!
When you say that babies sin, and that a 3 year old's actions constitute proof of their sinful nature. They do so no more than a puppy, or an excited dog.
Their awareness is limited to that of oneself. The concept of consequence and of impact on the community are beyond the child's reasoning. As the child grows it starts to become aware of IMMEDIATE impact, grasping the concept of "No" FAR earlier than it does of the ramifications of it's actions. Note that I consider "Sin" to be an abstract impact on the infinitely sensitive "super-being in the sky." Since a child learns from action vs. reaction, the feelings, emotions, etc. of the guardians are the first guide of development.
Until you indoctrinate (brainwash) the child into feeling guilty for offending an all-powerful, invisible, non-intervening being. That child is learning and adapting to society, and developing it's own set of ethics. That is, before you overwrite said ethics with a set of "biblical morals."
A baby is neither good nor evil, though capable of becoming either. A baby's guardians are responsible for it's immediate development, though I would gladly accept help from your "god" anytime he/she wished to come down and help out in the rearing of said baby, I would think omnipotence/omniscience would make the task much easier. I won't hold my breath, though.
-Last year marked the first in HISTORY that someone working full time for minimum wage couldn't afford a one bedroom apartment ANYWHERE in the U.S.
-The Debt Ceiling had to be raised so that they wouldn't default on treasury notes.
-The ACTUAL unemployment is guessed to be hovering at about 10% (They stop counting you once you stop drawing).
-The oil supply in the reserves is estimated to be where it was in 1999, yet light crude is higher than $66 a barrel due to a weakened dollar.
Why it LOOKS good ?
-Due to offshore home offices, outsourced jobs, NAFTA + CAFTA, and cheaper immigrant labor goods are relatively cheap.
-Corporate profits are higher than ever, especially for CEOs and oil companies.
So go on ahead Chimpy, tout the strong economy, let the companies remain unpenalized and keep their cheap illegal labor. Blue collar citizens struggling to get by will send you and your cronies packing.
All due respect, but I was hoping as a gesture of respect, to make a banner (much like my own) for your brother. For the LIFE of me, I can't find him. I've done search after search after search. Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Nothing !!! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%... I don't want anyone to think this was done out of spite, it was completely altruistic, but check for yourself. http://www.defendamerica.mil/fallen.html http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forc... http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forc... http://www.militarycity.com/valor/honor_ma... http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops... http://icasualties.org/oif/prdDetails.aspx... I'm a tenacious little bastard, and when I put my mind to something, I don't give up. I was dedicated to helping InsanityInc out, yet . . . well look for yourself. Only one died in Iraq, Travis Bruce. http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/2005/n... 6 died in the ENTIRE Month in Afghanistan http://www.icasualties.org/oef/byCountry.a... The only Wells who died in that month - Charles Wells, 32 http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/2005/n... InsanityInc - is going on ? To all DUers, it fills me with regret to do such a thing. Forgive me for being so callous. I will gladly delete this post if/when the truth is outted, but for now I can't help but feel an affront to my altruism. People pour their hearts out on these boards, please tell me that I'm a cynical bastard, I'd much rather that than the other logical conclusion.
