When this little piglet was rescued, he was suffering from a joint infection that followed a leg injury he received in the overcrowded conditions he lived in at a local farmer’s petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Despite the label of “free range” that some farmers utilize to distance themselves from factory farms, piglets and other animals who are raised for food are still treated as commodities. An animal’s life has a price tag and that price tag may not warrant an extra investment in medical care ...

That OP just about says it all........... (Link) but unfortunately the 'jury' decided it was too true for school, even in the help & meta place forum thingy where you're supposed to talk about these things...... Life is too short for this insanity me thinks. They need to come back to the beach here at DU2, where life is cozy and you can run your toes in the sand.... (Image) :patriot:

and those minorities will forever be Democrats. Now, they are attacking women, who will wind up being Democrats forever. Republicans, so fucking stupid they can't see how they are self-defeating. Or how being the party of rich white men is a losing proposition. They really are just fucking stupid.

Helen Malara Teutul, of Montgomery, entered into rest on December 19, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. She was 93 years old. Helen was born to the late Joseph and Wanda Blauchut on August 4, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA. Helen worked formerly as a Quality Control Manager with Precision Technology in Norwood, NJ. She loved to play cards and was an avid Yankee fan and bowler, having bowled in many leagues over the years. Helen was the beloved Grammie to ever...

Republicans are worried this election could be their last chance to stop history. This is fear talking. But not paranoia. Of the various expressions of right-wing hysteria that have flowered over the past three years—goldbuggery, birtherism, death panels at home and imaginary apology tours by President Obama abroad—perhaps the strain that has taken deepest root within mainstream Republican circles is the terror that the achievements of the Obama administration may be irreversible, and that t...

(Image) At the end of the 18th century, James Watt and other steam-engine makers needed a means of rating their machinery’s capacity for work. Based on its faithful service as a power provider, the horse was deemed the logical yardstick. Experiments revealed that a typical draft horse could turn a 24-foot-diameter millstone 2.4 rotations in one minute with a sustained 180-pound tug. Using rudimentary physics (power = force x distance/time), one horsepower was defined as 33,000 pound-feet per mi...

Joe 'Six Pack' Republican. Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and fresh because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan bec...

Apple’s event in New York showed that the iPad could eventually make paper textbooks an endangered species. And that’s just the way that former Apple chief executive Steve Jobs wanted it to be. In his biography of Steve Jobs, author Walter Isaacson wrote about how Jobs met with media magnate Rupert Murdoch to talk about education. The books says, “Jobs agreed with Murdoch that the paper textbook business would be blown away by digital learning materials.” “In fact, Jobs had set his sights on t...

I think I will be visiting there as often as I donate a kidney......and for some of the jury comments, I think those people should be banned from juries. A simple yes or no, not a derogatory statement by the juror. What the frock is wrong with a system like that? Allowing a juror to make a derogatory comment about a poster who was alerted on, either by clique or vengeance not just actual rules violations makes the system A FRAUD. amazing that jurors can insult posters who posts are hidden. ...

When they realize we're puny little ants under the foot of our intergalactic masters, they'll wake up and realize it's too late to come part of the human race.......... Our weapons will be useless, all ideas of God, the Earth being 5000 years old, we're the only beings, dashed in the blast of an energy cannon. Money, useless, food and particle weapons will be the new currency. And every one of those weak-assed, basement dwelling, Cheetos-eating, beer-swilling, gun-loving morAns will dissolve i...

China to impose duties on cars imported from U.S. China said today it would impose anti-subsidy and anti-dumping duties on imported cars made in the United States, the latest in a series of trade spats between the world's two largest economies. The duties, to affect the Detroit 3 and some U.S. units of foreign automakers, will begin tomorrow and last two years, the Commerce Ministry said on its Web site. Cars that have engine capacity at or above 2.5 liters will be hit with duties ranging fr...

(Image) Jakey was saved as a rescue at about six years old nearly seven years (he was 13+, old for a Bully) ago by my beloved ex, her partner at the time, and my beautiful daughter. He was rescued from a life of being a stud at a breeder. He had terrible lung parasites, heartworm, and a variety of other issues. He was brought back to health with a lot of love and a lot of money. Jake had no prejudices, he loved other dogs, cats and people equally, which is rare in a English Bull Terrier. A ...

I can't bother saying much. Many many others have said more and better as to how badly sold out many of us feel. 10 years of posting here, and it's all rubbish, journal is archived, ignore list archived, watch what you say, maybe that's what they wanted all along, your edits are viewed, and you are judged by the most loathsome of people ever to post on DU. I'm too old for games and politics, and people who knife you in the back.

That comment stunned me as I exited my local supermarket earlier this afternoon. I turned, and there sitting as if everything was great on this sunny day, reading a newspaper like they belonged, was a young couple. First glance, well dressed, not dirty, no 'meth marks' on their faces. Neither smoking. He shaggy blond hair sticking out from under a ski cap, her dark hair under a hoodie. Nice coats, nice boots on both. "Is it for food or drugs and booze?" No sir (huh, sir, are you shitting me...

Message hidden by jury decision A Jury voted 5-1 to hide this post on Wed Dec 7, 2011, 04:25 PM. Reason: This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.) When the original post in a discussion thread is hidden by Jury decision, the entire discussion thread is automatically locked so new replies cannot be posted. Show post I can see where this if fucking going....a jury of 5 decided in a beta test I was disruptive. Actual...

this isn't sugar, this industry stopped using sugar decades ago. Cheap is the word. Until the corn is no longer cheap due to ethanol. Then maybe we can complain about sugar again.....unless we start to use unprocessed sugar? nah, the industry doesn't give a shit. You've probably seen those commercials boasting that high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) isn't as bad for you as you think, since it's made from all-natural corn. It's misleading though because just like refined white sugar, HFCS is a hig...

One of the most anticipated releases of (now 2nd quarter 2012) this year is Diablo 3 by Blizzard Entertainment. And they have their customers and fans in a tizzy to get beta 'keys' to play the pre-release. Except there is one problem (actually a lot of problems). First when you've killed the Skeleton King fter 5 hours of playing, it's over. An old TV style overlay appears on your screen for 5 seconds announcing "You've beaten the Diablo 3 Beta". And the game brings you back to your starting poin...

( Bonafide Freeper head exploder teeth gnashing hate spewing article) If you ever happen to come across a Republican on television these days, chances are that you will hear the name Ronald Reagan. Recent Republican debates are the perfect example of the love fest that the current Republican party has for Reagan as each candidate name drops the former president at every turn. If you only listened to conservatives you would think that Jesus Christ was the only person above Reagan on the totem p...

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be go...

How many Americans actually give a happy monkey fuck?
How did we get here

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful
Wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Water dissolving...and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right? ...am I wrong?
And you may tell yourself
My god!...what have I done?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
