Fri Jul 03rd 2009, 08:22 PM This is the most BS thing EVER. I am actually quoting this from her announcement, typing it as she speaks:
I think though, much of it, for the kids, had to do with recently seeing their baby brother Trig mocked and ridiculed by some pretty meanspirited adults recently, and by the way, I sure wish folks could ever understand all that we can learn, all of us, from someone like Trig. I know he needs me, but I know that I need him even more. Wow, you sure the hell do. What a manipulative, bullshit thing for her to say. As she said the "meanspirited adults" thing, the camera moved to poor Piper's face, not looking too happy. Okay, so her kids decided it was best for her to quit her GOVERNORSHIP because some blogger ON THE INTERNET Photoshopped a local Alaskan radio talk show host's head onto Trig's so that it looked like she was holding him, in baby form, instead? And she agreed? Are you fucking serious? As if her kids read political blogs and just happened to run into the picture or something? Yeah, tell us another one. And what a child can offer to set priorities right. Know that time is precious. The world needs more Trigs, not fewer. Oh, Sarah, give me a break! Yeah, you need your kid. He's a really convenient excuse for you to paint any opposing voices to yours, online, as inhuman bastards who would mock a special needs child... except, hello, they weren't mocking your kid and you know it. Also, a bit of a bizarre statement: the world needs more severe Down Syndrome sufferers? Not to put down anyone born with Down Syndrome, but what exactly is her reasoning here? It sounds all feelgood and sweet, but could she really picture the REALITY of that statement? Please, get your head out of your ass! The only one making a mockery of your kid is YOU. Shameless! Absolutely shameless. This is what I saw today in Downtown Houston... it pretty much speaks for itself. ![]() Here's my accompanying picture thread, for anyone who missed the funnies: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discu... Wed Apr 15th 2009, 10:46 PM I didn't see a thread and I thought my pictures might be too excessively large to add to someone else's only slightly related thread, so here goes...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And some not misspelled but... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have plenty more, some secession, birther and abortion ones, but those were some of the notable misspellings and random wackiness. On the other hand, these two guys deserve some kind of award: ![]() ![]() Also, some video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gerbwZiHhAM It's still processing at the moment but soon enough you will be able to watch it in high quality. ![]() So, if the concept of the "War on Christmas" makes you laugh as much as I do every year, if you're tired of the creeping holiday -- soon enough, preparations for Christmas will start in July! -- or aren't exactly enthralled with the season and can't wait for it to be over, you might enjoy my "I Support The War On Christmas" shirt. And yes, that IS a tree ornament bomb.
![]() http://www.cafepress.com/waronxmas ![]() ![]() As always, plenty of styles and colors available. ![]() ![]() ![]() Many more products at: http://www.cafepress.com/gay_rights_now I got the idea to make this because the bittersweet election night has been weighing on me and I really think more people need to get the message and equate gay rights with civil rights if there is to be any progress made. :fistbump: Hurricane Ike internet downtime gave me the opportunity to finish the video I'd posted about here briefly, a couple of times, when I was only yet done with composing the music for it. Anyway, this one's fairly self-explanatory... someone is going to have to fight John McCain's wars and foot the bill, and with a stretched military and expanding hostile territory, McCain's only option will be the one he's actually brought up and agreed with on video: the draft. This one should be forwarded to everyone you know, anyone of age, anyone who has a child of age or one who WILL be of age within the next eight years, those independent leaners who don't quite understand what four to eight years of McCain would put this country through with his bellicose vice presidential pick Sarah Palin. This video aims to show the reality of a McCain/Palin administration. Spread it far and wide, for all of our sakes. ![]() http://www.cafepress.com/SarahCheney Q: What's the difference between Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin? A: Lipstick. I'm sure you all saw the fake outrage and cries of sexism tonight from the Republicans because Obama said something McCain said several months ago about Hillary, about slapping lipstick on a pig. Well, I was clearly inspired... and bored enough to try this terrifying experiment. It's an abomination! ![]() I put this short video together from readily available video of Palin's church. I could have added more, but I think a short video is more effective and more likely to be watched by people. I've seen videos on Youtube where the person wants to cram about ten million ideas into it and it winds up being tedious and really, when you see a ten minute video on Youtube, how likely are you to watch it all? This one is 2:32... the best I could do while getting the message across using her own words and nodding, the best argument possible against her. She actually BELIEVES this stuff! THIS video is why she should have been vetted and should continue to be vetted by the media, even more so. The safety of our nation is why. The Republican party's shift towards theocracy is why. Pass this video on to friends and family and let them make up their own minds about it. Send it to the media if you like. I purposely didn't put in any text endorsing Obama or giving my own opinion, no annoying music (overused Requiem For a Dream music anyone?) or transitions to try to sway people about it. I think what she says and what she actually nods at and agrees to is enough, not to mention the church's very own commercial for the event she's receiving a certificate for at the end of the video. That event you saw a commercial for in this video is taking place today, this Sunday. Will she be there? Who knows... Posted by DangerousRhythm in General Discussion: Presidential (Through Nov 2009)

Thu Sep 04th 2008, 08:47 AM My first impressions of tonight's Republican speeches that I managed to catch, Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin... I must wonder, where were their ideas and why are they so angry at us? And I don't just mean DRILL, BABY, DRILL, I mean ideas beyond drilling and energy. What about the economy that your party screwed up so handily? Why is community organizing such a laughable, useless thing to be mocked? Does Sarah Palin think back to her own community she served as a mayor and realize that organizing it would likely take all of five minutes? Maybe that's where she gets the impression that community work is some small feat to be derided? Hey, they vote too, you know, and at this point you can use all the votes you can get. Not to mention, they can influence who gets out and votes against you come November 4th. Best not to make fun of your audience. You can't see them, but they certainly see you now, and they see that you are bankrupt of ideas and class.
These Republicans didn't even bother talking to the American people at home watching their juvenile display on television. They only talked to the rabid 25 percenters in their convention hall who lapped up all the mockery, condescending sarcasm and hatred like filthy little piglets, squealing for more. Now, don't get me wrong, I love mockery, hatred and sarcasm, not necessarily in that order, but it must be just for me to enjoy it properly. When your party had a large hand in fucking things up massively in this country, you don't get the privilege of acting like you're above it all. What an embarrassing, awful display of the worst of America. Even Andrea Mitchell looked very unhappy to be where she was, and she normally puts a pleasant face on. It was just that bad. When Pat Buchanan suggests you be kept away from cameras and microphones for a couple of months, you've lost. My only hope is that moderate republicans and independents watched those speeches and saw the same. I think they did. I can't wait till Saturday night so I can see Tina Fey rip apart that condescending, lipstick slathered pig. In fact, I think I'll set the recording right now so I don't miss it by accident. This will be good, I guarantee it. Posted by DangerousRhythm in General Discussion: Presidential (Through Nov 2009)
Sat Aug 30th 2008, 06:53 PM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_femal...
Watching your speech, I was struck by something you said about being a female candidate, thanking only two who came before you. It hasn't just been two women, Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton, who have strived for the top jobs in the country. They may have gotten the closest in recent years, but you forgot a whole boatload of other women. Why not mention Shirley Chisholm? Why not make a nod to Cynthia McKinney who IS actually running for President this year in the Green Party? What is she, chopped liver? Oh, I know why, because your feminism is a damned sham. Tue Aug 26th 2008, 11:46 PM I just watched her much anticipated speech and it was every bit as amazing as I expected it to be! Hillary REALLY knocked it out of the park and I can't believe some of these pundits are putting her down for it or STILL questioning what she said. Screw them... the message came through LOUD and clear as far as I am concerned. Nobody in their right mind can question what her intention is now. PUMAs can have their meltdowns and try to read into what she said, but no sane person can doubt Hillary's commitment to the Democratic Party and its principles.
![]() No way, no how, No McCAIN! I made a bumper sticker because this is something that needs to be on EVERY DAMN CAR up until we take back the White House in November! Get it here: http://www.cafepress.com/no_way_no_how Damn, that speech left me feeling VERY energized and ready to kick some Republican ass this fall! Thanks again, Hillary, for your help and wisdom tonight. Let's DO THIS THING! ![]() ![]() Posted by DangerousRhythm in General Discussion: Presidential (Through Nov 2009)
Wed Aug 20th 2008, 07:24 PM ![]() And the Christian Science Monitor called the campaign out on it, of all people. Seriously? Why lie about this? Adopting a poor, sick child from Bangladesh and having her cleft palate fixed isn't a good enough story for her and the McCain campaign? Not enough of a WOW factor? This is sick. I thought the lies she told about her plagiarized family recipes and then the supposed cookie recipe incident were kind of silly but this is a bit more disturbing to me because it involves her daughter and the implication that merely adopting a child just wasn't good enough a story... didn't have enough zazz. That's just sad, and on the heels of the other story about the sisters Cindy McCain refuses to acknowledge, it's becoming downright bizarre. The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an “only child.” This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them. The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa “convinced” Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991. Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa on that trip. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.) The story about Mother Teresa “convincing” Mrs. McCain to bring home two children from an orphanage in Bangladesh has been retold many times. Initially, the “About Cindy McCain” page on the McCain campaign website read: “Mother Teresa convinced Cindy to take two babies in need of medical attention to the United States. One of those babies is now their adopted daughter, 16-year-old Bridget McCain.” The media picked up the theme. A story earlier this year on ABC’s “Good Morning America” stated, “With Mother Teresa’s encouragement she brought her fourth child, Bridget, home.” An April 2008 Wall Street Journal profile states that Mother Teresa “implored” Cindy to bring the girls to the United States. Other articles say Cindy did it “at the behest” of Mother Teresa. I'm actually a bit surprised by this, but I really shouldn't be, considering the woman has been caught in massive lies before, like stealing from her own charity to support her prescription drug habit for starters. All of these lies start to add up and you really have to wonder what else Cindy McCain and the McCain campaign are lying about. |
