Two balloons full of gel explosives in a D-cup bra! It's simple enough to pull off. Will every person who appears to be a woman have to be felt up at the airport?

There are so many ways to smuggle liquids onto a plane. They could put liquids in flat, flexible plastic pouches which are sewn into a man's suit jacket as shoulder pads. They could put liquids in a ziplock bag and conceal them in the sewn lining of a handbag or carry-on. A fluffy down jacket can be full of baggies containing explosives.

Forcing people to throw out bottles of Visine and contact lens cleaner is ridiculous! It's a totally false panacea supposedly to calm the masses, with the real intention of fostering panic and fear.

I think it would actually be better NOT to tip off the terrorists that security is looking for liquids. They're only encouraging them to find more ingenious ways of getting liquid explosives onboard. Which will make it harder for airport security to detect them.

I caught part of bush’s July 28 press conference with poodle boy Tony Blair. He was sputtering the same line over and over with that deer in the headlight look:

“The terrorists they hate us for our democracy! The terrorists they hate us for our democracy!”

Which was absolulately hilarious, because the truth is that terrorists have wholeheartedly EMBRACED democracy. Any observer of world events with half a brain can see that the terrorists are operating within democracies and using the institutions of democratic governments to take control and advance their agenda.

Terrorists ♥ Democracy

Lebanon had its first parliamentary elections in 2005. The terrorist organization Hezbollah won fourteen seats in the 128-member Lebanese Parliament, and an Amal-Hezbollah alliance won all 23 seats in Southern Lebanon. In addition, Hezbollah has two ministers in the government.

In January 2006, Hamas won 74 of 132 seats in the January 2006 Palestinian legislative election and is now the majority party of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

The U.S. has installed some kind of democracy in Iraq, and much to bush’s complete surprise they want to democratically create an Islamic state. Because (hello?) democracy means majority rule. And the majority of people in Iraq are Shiites who want an Islamic state, but were denied this under secular Saddam. (The religious right is using democracy to try to create a religious state here in the U.S., but I would never expect him to see the parallels.)

The real idiocy of this administration is that they apparently think “democracy” is the same as “westernism.” When they talk about the spread of democracy in the Middle East, they are envisioning an outbreak of western culture. Of Americanism (as in white Christian America). Which they believe will turn into a great love for America and its ways.

These naïve dumbasses think that once a country has a democratic election, the whole country is going to magically morph into . . . Iowa.

But with democracy, it’s more like the computer term GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). If you install a democracy in the land of Baby-Eaters, they’re not going to give up being baby-eaters. You’ll just get a democratically-elected government of Baby-Eaters. The democratically elected parliament in the land of Baby-Eaters isn’t going to outlaw baby-eating, they’ll just vote to make baby-eating the national pastime.

There are many “stable democracies” but someone needs to explain to Bonehead that democracies aren’t automatically stable. Democracies are a government “of the people,” and if the people themselves are unstable, the country will be unstable. Dictatorships can be more stable than a democracy. Say what you will about Castro’s Cuba, but Cuba is stable, and it's a dictatorship.

Memo to the Idiot-in-Chief: The crisis in the Middle East didn’t come about because they “hate our democracy.” It happened largely because of democracy. Hezbollah has a position of power within the Lebanese government because of democratic elections. Hamas is closer their goal of destroying Israel because of democratic elections. Iran will have a new ally in Iraq because of democratic elections.

The democracy thing is working out well for the evil-doers. The ter-rists are strategerizin' to use democracies to as a means to an end. Because the terrorists have successfully adapted to thrive in democracies.

Which is to say they've ... evolved! (Darwinism in action, so ironic since you don’t believe in it.)

First of all, the “reverence for human life” crowd doesn’t care that in vitro fertilzation clinics have women using the same reproductive strategy as lower life forms like crustaceans and insects: spawn a multitude of young in hopes that at least one will survive.

There are 400,000 cryogenically frozen embryos in the U.S. Even if they are implanted in a uterus, most will die. Usually 3 or 4 are implanted at one time, with the expectation that at most only one will live. Many do not survive freezing and being thawed. Those embryos that are not preserved in liquid nitrogen will inevitably die. Then they are discarded or destroyed. Some embryos are simply flushed down a sink drain while alive. Some are transferred to a medical waste bin where they are later incinerated, while alive. Some simply expose the embryos to the air and let them die naturally, this usually takes up to four days. (Link)

Logically, you’d think those who would liken legal abortion to the Holocaust would be up in arms over what, by their own definition, is mass murder. If they believe every embryo is a human with rights, why aren’t they calling IVF clinics torture chambers? There are a few religious groups who are against IVF practices, but their cause hasn’t fired up the “pro-life” fanatical faction. There has only been only one lackluster protest against a fertility clinic, when 48 people demonstrated back in 2001.

And it’s not because the anti-choice people don’t know about these practices, so they can’t claim ignorance. Their own president has says its perfectly OK to kill the IVF embryos, just don’t experiment on them first.

And meanwhile, it's notable what is not happening with the so-called "pro-lifers." They are not sending bomb threats to fertilization clinics. No fertility doctors have to worry about being shot by a “pro-life” vigilante. There's no need to pass laws for a buffer zone around fertility clinics, because no one’s protesting and praying outside of the fertilization clinics. They don’t sport bumper stickers next to their W stickers about Stopping-the-IVF-Clinic-Slaughter. The republican leadership representing the religous right in Congress isn’t taking this opportunity with bush in power to draft legislation against IVF clinics. All these precious human embryos being murdered, each one a sacred human life, and yet they don’t give a damn?

Want to know why? It is because there is no WOMAN to be harassed.

Even if they actually cared about IVF embryos, they’re not going to take on the male-dominated corporate-medical complex. They want to go after one of the more vulnerable members of society, the pregnant woman. They enjoy using strong arm tactics to force their morality on a pregnant woman who may be scared, poor and barely getting by in life. They want the feeling of power to be able to force a woman to bear children.

Because their nonchalance about IVF clinics shows they damn sure don’t care about embryos, fetuses, or babies. Their indifference to IVF embryo deaths just serve to prove beyond a doubt what we all knew already: THE “PRO-LIFE” MOVEMENT IS ONLY ABOUT MISOGYNY.

The woman who is desperately trying to get pregnant through in vitro by creating multiple disposable embryos doesn’t have to fear harassment from “pro-life” groups — she is only trying doing the only thing a woman should be doing, giving birth and raising children. She is being a “good woman.” For this reason, they have no interest in shutting down fertility clinics.

If a doctor in a lab coat pours a hundred embryos down the drain, “pro-lifers” have blinders on. In fact, they truly don’t care. But if a WOMAN, on her own, makes a decision to destroy a single embryo, it’s unconscionable. That’s the source of their moral outrage -- a woman, a mere woman, making a decision to take charge of her own life. How dare a mere woman presume to make a God-like decision? How can a mere woman selfishly make a decision to put her own shallow needs and desires ahead of the life of the embryo? These immoral acts of arrogant women who would defy God’s will must be stopped! (Meanwhile, white-coated lab technicians are throwing embryos into med-waste incinerators.)

They believe women must be forced to bear children. And this agenda has many different flavors within the anti-choice movement. Some want to ensure that woman are subjugated in society. Some believe outlawing abortion will to return society to a mythical “Father Knows Best” utopia. Many want to make sure there are reproductive vessels available to create a supply of much sought after white babies. And women must be punished for having had sex at all, because there simply must be consequences for this act.

But as far as “pro-lifers” professed worship of the embryos is concerned, they’ve tipped their hand, the gig is up. Their acceptance of IVF practices shows their misogynistic doctrine for what it is.

In the ongoing public debate, we need to challenge the anti-choice side to explain this outrageous hypocrisy at every opportunity. It is the perfect counter argument: “If every embryo is a precious human life as you say, why don’t you care about the IVF embryos? How do you account for this glaring inconsistency in you moral viewpoint? ”

I’d like to see them try to answer that.

Bush vows again he won't pull out of Iraq
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/content/...

"I'm going to make you this promise: I'm not going to allow the sacrifice of 2,527 troops who have died in Iraq to be in vain by pulling out before the job is done."
-- GWB's address to the troops, July 4th, 2006

These are the words of a gambling addict on a Vegas bender. Even though he keeps losing again and again, he returns to the table to gamble some more lives, convinced that he can break even.

This description of a compulsive gambler hits home:

"Winning enhances the gambler's self-image and ego. Losses are rationalized as poor advice or bad luck. However, as losses increase and self-esteem is jeopardized, the gambler borrows money to "invest" in gambling in hopes of breaking even. The need arises to hide new losses and borrow more money to make up the difference."

And more importantly, he can’t let Daddy see him lose.

It's the classic profile of a compulsive gambler. Other signs of gambling addiction:

“Lies to family members, therapists or others to conceal the extent of involvement with gambling”
(Read: lies to America.)

“Has committed illegal acts in order to finance gambling”
(Illegal acts: check!)

“Has jeopardized or lost a significant relationship, job or educational or career opportunity because of gambling.”
(He’s destroyed our reputation in the international community and squandered all post-9/11 capital.)

"Needs to gamble with increasing amounts of money in order to achieve the desired excitement."
(Repeatedly asks Congress for just a few more billion for his war.)

"Has relied on others to provide money to relieve a desperate financial situation caused by gambling"
(China and Hong Kong own his gambling debt. When they foreclose, they'll own us.)

He knows he’ll win eventually, he’s confident. He trusts his instincts. His instincts are infallible he tells us. No wonder he’s so self-assured, everything has gone his way his whole life! Everything in his life shows he’s a natural born winner.

But the problem is this: Things have always worked out for him not because of any innate ability, but because his family (and their extended good ole boy network, and even the SCOTUS) was always there to make sure he won, against all odds. That’s why he thinks he’ll always come out on top–- all his life, someone was always there to load the dice, stack the deck, rig the roulette wheel. To make sure he won. Of course he’s confident and trusts his “instincts.”

Give him just a few more dollars, a few more lives, and he’ll go back to the table just one more time. Like he said, he’s determined that the lives of 2,527 troops aren’t going to be a loss. He’s not leaving Vegas until he goes home a winner. Because he always wins. The big payout’s coming this next hand, it just has to. Just loan him a few more lives.
