For all of you who have lost, or are afraid you will lose your jobs in this awful economy, may I offer my opinion on what I consider to be Barack Obama's finest idea. This, to me, will be President Obama's New Deal, the shining star atop his legacy.

During the Great Depression the Civilian Conservation Corps was a concrete example of a huge government project that put hundreds of thousands of unemployed Americans back to work. When you visit the trails in National Parks, when you drive on highways, see dams, bridges, telephone lines - you see ghosts of this brilliant project.

To me, Obama's National Infrastructure rebuilding plan will do for the United States now, what the CCC did for this country then. It will rip the band-aids off our crumbling roads, bridges, dams and levees and repair them properly. Those new jobs will put money in the pockets of the currently unemployed, who in turn, will pay taxes, buy clothes, eat out occasionally, purchase health insurance, maybe get their kid a laptop for school - the entire economy will benefit from this and Obama's Green Jobs initiatives, every American will reap the benefits from these for years to come. They will re-establish our middle class.

We are very fortunate to have a leader who is willing to study history and learn from its mistakes and its glories.
