Some Stuff I Think About...

Nature abhors a vacuum. George Will has filled it... ho boy had he filled it!

When both TPM and Nate Silver laugh at you on their front pages, you know you've done something silly.

No longer content to trot his old 1970's era newspaper out on Sunday talk shows, George Will is now taking his show on the road, and must've been mistakenly booked by the Washington Post for the wrong event - I think he was supposed to be part of the dinner show, but ended up as part of the comedy hour.

Don't bother reading it - its just a bunch of multi-syllabic words interwoven with handily cropped excerpts of scientific reports and news headlines - just know that it will be quoted ad nauseum by the science-haters.

from 538:

"His batting average on this piece seems to have been a bit lower than that of his beloved Washington Nationals."

All this comes on the heels of CNN ditching its actual Science Journalists to report on science. And here I thought the War on the Rational was over.

When all is said and done, I suppose part of me isn't surprised by the errors from Will; my real disappointment is with the Editorial staff at the post. The real question is:

"Why has the Washington Post done the same disservice to its readers that the NYTimes did with the weekly fact-challenged columns from Bill Kristol?"

I mean, really.
