Fuck all traditions. The fact that your ancestors did stupid things is no excuse.

Fuck all customs. The fact that your peers are doing stupid things is no excuse.

it looks like the global economy consists largely of meaningless IOU's that the financial sector has forged and now expects US to pay.

Thing is: we can't get most people to another planet.

Even if, say, Mars was habitable we'd be lucky to get a few dozen folks over there.

Sure, THEY could start populating and before long Mars would also be crowded, but none of that would affect the majority of the existing human race, which is destined to live and die on Earth.

That will remain true LONG after we've either solved our population problem here, or circumstances -- famine, epidemics, war -- solve it for us.

Humans may reach other worlds some day, but moving the existing population is never going to happen.

There is no such thing as voluntary regulation.

Never was.

Never will be.

Anyone who tells you differently is a goddamned liar and is taking you for a fool.

Imagine football where there are no penalties for intentionally injuring another player (roughing the kicker, etc)

No rule, no penalty, just voluntary regulation.

In a short time, those teams with enough decency to follow the "voluntary regulations" wouldn't have enough players to start the game. All football would be dominated by those who treated it as a bloodsport.

It's inevitable.

Or take energy companies: Those who spend money to voluntarily protect the environment would be driven out by those that didn't.

There is no such thing as voluntary regulation.

Never was.

Never will be.

Anyone who tells you differently is a goddamned liar and is taking you for a fool.

The $64,000 question!

As long as we DO tolerate it, I think they DO represent us.

If and when those people are shunned by everyone who meets them...

When they can no longer call ANYONE friend without being rebuffed...

When average Americans stand on street corners and shout "FUCK THE TEABAGGERS!" and no one dares to argue...

Then, I'll agree that the TP doesn't represent us.

Until then, we are known by the company we tolerate.

However, we have NO control over that party's activities. And they clearly don't give a shit about us.

No matter how much we give, it'll be a drop in the bucket. But we can still hand them our money, go broke, and be told that if we'd been more careful we wouldn't need the Social Security that a Democratic president is hell-bent on taking away.

But really, at this point hope = insanity.

We have no representation in government.

The very worst things that can be done are being done.

And perhaps worst of all: Obama fucks us again and again and again and this site's admin and many of its posters continue to support him!

How in the world will anything worth living for ever happen again?

Obama has been colluding with the right since the beginning.

They graciously allowed him to win without putting up serious opposition (knowing the public would elect a Dem after 8 years of Bush-fatigue).

His main purpose in office is to keep the left out of the way.

He pretends to be against the GOP's latest atrocity until the 11th hour when he throws up his hands and says, "There's nothing I can do," at which time the pukes get their every wish.

Finally, since some on the left still feel a personal loyalty to Obama, he chastises everyone for not cheering loudly enough, knowing that will get us fighting among ourselves rather than putting up a united front against the traitors.

Turns out they switched to fold-outs with pictures of scantily clad Mayans.

Hoping to sell as many of the old-style units as possible -- to recoup some of the money spent on a ridiculously optimistic order several centuries ago -- they've kept the new ones under wraps till now.

That's how the Middle East became the way it is.

Not knocking you for asking the question, but I'd gladly declare war, pick up a gun, and start mowing down ANYONE who would answer yes.

America is NOTHING without that separation.

Nothing.

unless we believe that he got himself tortured to death on purpose to 'save' us.

They wear little representations of a torture/killing device around their necks.

They are never NOT obsessed with torture.

And that includes the years when pukes held the White House, the Senate, and the HoR.

Protest non-votes may have made this easier for our enemies, but I don't accept that this is merely the result of a switch in majorities.

Look at all the similar crap going on simultaneously in many states.

This is a coordinated assault on democracy, many DINOs are in on it (witness Massachusetts), and lurking behind the scenes is a commanding general calling the shots.

Someone uses language you don't like -- be tolerant.

Someone looks funny to you (or AT you) -- be tolerant.

Someone's sex life is good for them but wouldn't work for you -- be tolerant (at least!)

Someone tries to steal other people's life savings, take away their civil rights, deny them health care (but force them to pay for it anyway)?

Then FUCK TOLERANCE! IT SHOULD BE WAR.

Our government is no longer concerned with what is good, what is right, what is healthy, what we want.

We have lost it all.
