Thing is: we can't get most people to another planet.
Even if, say, Mars was habitable we'd be lucky to get a few dozen folks over there.
Sure, THEY could start populating and before long Mars would also be crowded, but none of that would affect the majority of the existing human race, which is destined to live and die on Earth.
That will remain true LONG after we've either solved our population problem here, or circumstances -- famine, epidemics, war -- solve it for us.
Humans may reach other worlds some day, but moving the existing population is never going to happen.
Anyone who tells you differently is a goddamned liar and is taking you for a fool.
Imagine football where there are no penalties for intentionally injuring another player (roughing the kicker, etc)
No rule, no penalty, just voluntary regulation.
In a short time, those teams with enough decency to follow the "voluntary regulations" wouldn't have enough players to start the game. All football would be dominated by those who treated it as a bloodsport.
It's inevitable.
Or take energy companies: Those who spend money to voluntarily protect the environment would be driven out by those that didn't.
There is no such thing as voluntary regulation.
Never was.
Never will be.
Anyone who tells you differently is a goddamned liar and is taking you for a fool.
However, we have NO control over that party's activities. And they clearly don't give a shit about us.
No matter how much we give, it'll be a drop in the bucket. But we can still hand them our money, go broke, and be told that if we'd been more careful we wouldn't need the Social Security that a Democratic president is hell-bent on taking away.
Obama has been colluding with the right since the beginning.
They graciously allowed him to win without putting up serious opposition (knowing the public would elect a Dem after 8 years of Bush-fatigue).
His main purpose in office is to keep the left out of the way.
He pretends to be against the GOP's latest atrocity until the 11th hour when he throws up his hands and says, "There's nothing I can do," at which time the pukes get their every wish.
Finally, since some on the left still feel a personal loyalty to Obama, he chastises everyone for not cheering loudly enough, knowing that will get us fighting among ourselves rather than putting up a united front against the traitors.
Turns out they switched to fold-outs with pictures of scantily clad Mayans.
Hoping to sell as many of the old-style units as possible -- to recoup some of the money spent on a ridiculously optimistic order several centuries ago -- they've kept the new ones under wraps till now.
And that includes the years when pukes held the White House, the Senate, and the HoR.
Protest non-votes may have made this easier for our enemies, but I don't accept that this is merely the result of a switch in majorities.
Look at all the similar crap going on simultaneously in many states.
This is a coordinated assault on democracy, many DINOs are in on it (witness Massachusetts), and lurking behind the scenes is a commanding general calling the shots.
