that Obama and Biden will kick McWorse and (Insert asshole here) ass all over the map. Do not underestimate the groundgame, the money, the talent, the enthusiam, and the message. If you do, you may feel like those who thought that Clinton was going to have it in the bag after February 5th. If racism is what stops Obama from becoming the next President, the Democratic party will be gone forever.... This is our last shot.....and we will win....but never, ever let anyone or anything discourage ...

Something to do while you wait. (Link) After viewing, please give me your instinctual reaction and let me know if you think it would be a good idea to have this played at the Democratic National Convention. Thanks! :hi:

That statement in my headline was written on Monday, Dec. 02, 1946 (Link) A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true. Although examples of such prophecies can be found in literature as far back as ancient Greece and ancient India, it is 20th-century sociologist Robert K. Merton who is credited with coining the expression "self-fulfilling prophecy" and formalizing its structure and consequences. In his book Social Theory and Social Stru...

See, I don't have a "problem" with any of 'em, cause I want to win. If you want to win too, you'll adopt this attitude as well.... cause like Tara Bank says, Attitude is 1/2 of everything. Just be ready to do some research and to start defending whomever it will be, cause you know the GOP smear machine will be up and running even before the last letter of the Veeps name is typed into the text message. We are going to win this election......But we need all hands on deck! :patriot: (Image) (...

The Second Coming is the event when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to defeat evil and establish His reign of justice and peace. (Link) If God is so good, why is there evil? The thrust of this charge is that evil's presence disproves God's power. But is the presence of evil consistent with the God of the Bible? Consider: God didn't create evil. Sin entered the world through Adam's disobedience (Genesis 3). Evil is necessary for a free world. Freedom, or free will, gives humans the opport...

Something doesn't smell right here. The entire "war" reminds me of Wag the Dog, the movie. I officially now consider this an election year manufactured "crisis". CNN seems like the chosen PR Firm. There are hundreds of thousands dying in Darfur, hundreds of thousand uncounted dead in Iraq, but this Russian/Georgian conflict is what has our attention?

Just because Bush and now McCain can't generate excitement, doesn't mean that it is something bad. The GOP would have us live in the Twilight Zone, in a world where up is down, and bad is good. The GOP has been trying to demoralize us and "decide" for us what is good in the arena of politics. If they'd have it their way, big crowds are bad, and small tiny gatherings are good. Excitement for a candidate is a negative, and crowds who nearly fall asleep while the pol is talking is excellent. ...

Is Putin Following The McCain/Bush Doctrine? The irony in the conflict involving Georgia and Russia is that it looks eerily similar to the US's invasion of Iraq. Indeed, Russia may have a better argument because Georgia launced the initial attack, and now Russia is responding by trying to broaden the war and possibly grab more territory. Why? Oil. Also, was Russia's retaliation surprising? No, as the attached 2006 article shows: (Link) Saturday, 16 June, 2001 Bush and Putin: Best of friends ...

To Barack Obama. That's is how the Corp. media is subliminaly tying Edwards' immoral behavior to Barack Obama. Because John Edwards, in describing why he cheated on his wife, attributed that to "too much too soon". The media is playing that clip of him saying that over and over again. Edwards states, "It's what happened with me and I think happens unfortunately more often sometimes with other people.… Ego. Self-focus, self-importance. Now, I was slapped down to the ground when my son Wade di...

John McCain doesn't discuss what this proposal truly means and how American voters will react to it, so let me count the ways: 1. More Radioactive nuclear waste traveling on our highways, increasing the odds for a Nuclear "accident". 2. More Radioactive Nuclear waste to store in a questionable fashion, and the largest question is "where"? Ask Nevadans about this issue. Also see "Yucca Mountain", and Obama's excellent new ad going up in Nevada as we speak. (Link)/ page down to watch the ad. 3...

I am only putting up this thread, because there are some here who are espousing that the Obama Camp may have had something to do with Edwards dropping out prior to Super Tuesday, and it may have had to do with the current scandalous revelation by John Edwards. (poster is posting quotes from another site) (Link) Here, in this thread, I am simply offering an alternative "Theory".....since that is all that those spreading aspersions on the Obama camp are doing. At least my finger pointing is bac...

From an LA Times Editorial ....Obama is a star precisely because he is inspiring. He is the anti-Bush, and what he's selling is hope. It is axiomatic that the more powerful the theme a star embodies, the more powerful his or her stardom. Obama's theme is a potent one. Whether one buys into it or not, he promises to cross divides -- political, ideological, racial, geographic -- and to transcend the old politics of fear and hate that has commandeered recent elections. He believes that America ca...

Many members of DU and bloggers at other progressive boards oftentimes throw their hands up in the air as to what the answers are in reference to what can be done about the Corporate media as it continues to propagandize our elections. The task of holding this media accountable simply seems too large a task for any one of us, and I am sad to say that yes, IT IS. However, I believe that IF we operate in concert (as the media itself does), there are some things that we can do to minimize the inf...

Article: (Link) My Response: Dear Mr. Jack Shafer, Your piece on Obama being an untouchable was somewhat interesting, although the media's constant attempts at throwing things at him is possibly why Mr. Obama is not ahead by as much as he should be. So when are you going to write about John McCain's slippery self and the fawning media that he calls his "base"? Perhaps your piece can start by listing all of the negative stories about him like you did for Sen. Obama, and then mention some ...

He knows how to win wars? Like which one? How did he get that done? Isn't that more than presumptious of him to state this falsehood? And where in the hell is the fucking media on this? Where is their 24/7 analyzed collective outrage? Why are they not questioning this guy's facts on this statement? And furthermore, what is it with these McCain weekly radio addresses? Does this guy thinks he's President already? He's got some nerves! And what about those $520.00 shoes? Now, how ...

They are just totally useless. Their CNN live online feed had no sound for the Obama Speech to the Urban League. They treated us to non stop footage and comments on McCain's speech yesterday, but gave Obama perhaps 3 minutes of Urban League coverage on television, if that. I will be glad when they are buried, because they are obviously dead to me at this point.

So it appears that the Pundits who like to slash and dice have spoken. They have, all by their lonesome, determined that Barack Obama is too uppity, doesn't know his place, and acts like a prom king. He is simply too full of himself, they announce. The man is already acting like a President, they write indignantly. These are the folks that decide for viewers what parts of any candidate's appearance they will show us, based on what they have determined might be considered news. These are the ...

I'll be gone on a trip for a few of weeks. I will be without access to a computer, and so instead, I will be enjoying the life of someone who supports the Democratic nominee without getting caught up in every move he makes. Oh....and I will not be watching Cable Television, so that should also help raise my spirits. I will say that I like Barack Obama's religious initiative, and consider it a welcome replacement to the Bush Faith programs. Our tax monies have paid for weapons, for Bush's excu...

It appears that John McCain is now publicly taking credit for a bill that he not only DID NOT Vote for, but that he actively campaigned against; the GI Bill. A couple of the liberal Blogs have noted McCain's convenient lingo, but not enough of them. We have an entire weekend to bring this Flip Flop of military magnitude to the attention of the more mainstream media. The next important news cycle begins Monday. (Image) June 25, 2008 at 06:10:12 McCain slips the Terror Card to the Corporate Media Just because the stereotype of Republicans being "tough" on defense, and by extension on terrorism has been peddled by the Republican Party and the media for the last 25 years, doesn't make it so. Yet the Corporate Media insists that this is indeed an unarguable fact. Charlie Black's comment of how a Terrorist Attack would help John McCain get elected isn't an absolute truth, but you'd be hard pressed to fi...

"My wife reminds me every day that I am not a perfect man, and I will not be a perfect President. I may disappoint you sometimes, and we may not always agree. But what I will do is tell you things that you may not want to hear but that I think you need to know."--Barack Obama (from his standard stump speech that he gave consistently throughout the primaries). Sorry Barack, but most people want to hear what they want to hear.

Also call your 2 Senators and Senator Obama, and request that they vote to remove the Immunity clause from the FISA Bill, and if they can't, to vote NO on such bill. If you are actually interested in "doing something" to save the 4th amemdment, Barack Obama can't do that by himself, which is why you need to call Sen. Reid and your Senators (even if they are Republicans). Pressuring only Senator Obama ain't gonna do jack shit other than to force him to vote on a losing bill. If you are only ...

I wrote a heartfelt letter to Barack Obama last night. In my letter, I urged Barack to fight to remove the Immunity Provision for the Telecomm from the bill in question as he has promised he would. I also urged that in failing to do such, he should vote against the bill. It is clear to me that barring a miracle, Barack most likely will not be able to mobilize enough votes to strip the provision, and in addition, he will not be able to stop the bill from becoming law. In his voting NO (which...

Barack Obama's statement on House passing FISA Compromise: "Given the grave threats that we face, our national security agencies must have the capability to gather intelligence and track down terrorists before they strike, while respecting the rule of law and the privacy and civil liberties of the American people.
