I did it once as a kid, really. :freak: I live in IN and I've been calling and canvassing for days in notoriously bloody (R)ed areas. After knocking on hundreds of doors and talking to a few thousand people, I wouldn't be surprised if this state turns blue tonight, but someone's still gonna have to scrape me off my family room ceiling after the official announcement. :bounce:

And so from hour to hour we ripe and ripe, And then from hour to hour we rot and rot; And thereby hangs a tale. ~ William Shakespeare, As You Like It This year's art theme is about nationality, identity and the nature of patriotism. One species of the patriotic urge conflates the nation state with mass identity. Governments, as actors on a worldwide stage, become a surrogate for self, a vast projection of collective ego. And yet, there is another type of patriotic feeling that attaches us ...

TED: Ideas Worth Spreading Inspired talks by the world's greatest thinkers and doers (Link) TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader. (including Technology, Entertainment, Design, Business, Science, Arts, and Global Issues.) The annual conference now brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk o...

In response to a question posed by The Magistrate
First, what concerns me most are the motivations behind writing such a report. I may well be incorrect or out of line on this specific (news?) item. The word ‘obvious’ is subjective. What one sees as obvious may not be at all visible to another. I do, however, see a pattern in how news reports like this are evidence of an attempt to spoon feed people more bullshit in order to convince them that there are boogiemen in the world who we should be afraid of. I am especially skeptical about bad pres...
