Due the EPA's Clean Air Act which requires regulation of auto emissions. Oil Refiners have been forced to install units in their refineries to reduce emissions in gasoline/diesel by the year 2007. As a engineer working for a engineering/construction firm building these projects, I know the refiners are being forced (good thing) into spending money. Lots of money. The average costs of these projects is in 200-300 million dollar range. Some are even more expensive. These projects HURT the bottom l...

There've been a lot of alarming stories this week, but none more so that this explosive article in tomorrow's N.Y. Times by a friend and former co-worker, Jim Dwyer. On a day when we ponder the third anniversary of a U.S. unprovoked invasion of another country and when President Bush reaffirms the need for pre-emptive war, we now learn that the New York (thought) police are busting folks who look like they might riot: -snip- How tragic, for it is New York that the terrorists struck on Sept. 11...

Supports Santorum I strongly disagree with the comments of Jennifer Stockman, on behalf of the Republican Majority for Choice, criticizing U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum ("S. Dakota abortion law is an assault," March 8). While Sen. Santorum and I disagree on issues, I believe that he has done an excellent job for Pennsylvania and ought to be reelected. Without his support, I would not have won the 2004 Republican primary. Sen. Santorum's reelection is my top priority in 2006. -snip- -Hobo

I believe it was a gutsy move on Senator Feingold's part. Not that it didn't mean to be said. We, democrats have been cowering before the Bush gang for years. It's time we grow a backbone and called a spade a spade, call a liar a liar, and felon a felon. Stand up and say it proudly! Pesident Bush is a felon. -Hobo

The Bush Doctrine of Pre-emptive war is being trotted out now by this corrupt administration to set up the bombing of Iran. If we or the british don't make a move to bomb Iran, surely the Isrealis will. We can't have an "Islamic" bomb now can we. (of course this administration forgets or never grasps that Pakistan already has "Islamic" bomb) This is one of the PNAC principles "defend Isreal at all costs" - Hobo
