The few fellow Obama supporters in my office were sharing links and stories today. This one is from a co-worker of mine named Misty that I thought was really cool.

Here's a funny story.

Some of you met my niece, she's six. My sister took her to the voting polls on Tuesday, and when she found out that she wasn't allowed to vote, she started crying. My sister gave her a sample ballot, once she was able to fill in the bubble next to Barack Obama's name, she stopped crying. She's only 6, and she told me yesterday, very proudly, "I voted for Barack Obama!!!"

At what point should we stop trying to convince others on DU that our candidate is better than theirs? When should we realize that piss fights and mud slinging DOES NOT win people over? When should WE start taking the high road, instead of bitching that the candidates aren't? When should we start discussing issues like open minded adults? When should we stop burning bridges? When should we stop telling people how they should feel? When should we stop repeating the same half-truths and bullshit that you see on FOX? When should we stop accusing everyone of being either a racist or a sexist? When should we stop kicking and recommending flame-bait? When should we start acting like democrats again?

Really, when should this happen? I am new to DU, so I am being completely honest with my question. Do we have to wait until the primary is over before DUers start showing each other respect again?

Maybe we shouldn't worry about it until after the GE-- then we can fight about why we lost.

just to clarify: WE = members of DU

how many negative posts have you seen today in gd.p? how many positive posts have you seen? lets say something nice about our candidate, whoever it is. lets compile a list of what is good about our fellow democrats instead of what is soo fucking bad. i will start with both of them.

obama: well spoken, charismatic leader. he inspires people to believe that they can do better and that our country can be better than it is. he has made a generation get involved that may not have gotten involved without him.

hillary: is a passionate and caring person. she will fight for what she believes is right-- and as long as you agree with her than you can rest assured that she will fight for what you think is right also.

see, its not that hard. now you try.
