Joani's Journal

Today was my birthday.
I was going to meet two of my ABATE friends for an easy ride.

I was a little late starting out from home because I wanted to wash yesterday's grime off my trike. You know, being my BD and all that, I wanted to feel proud of my ride.
As I was toolin' along north on route 32, I became aware that there was a wreck up ahead. As I neared, 5 cars were stopped before me. I saw what I feared most. A motorcycle accident.

None of my friends were hurt but they were standing on the side of the road as they had stopped just before the accident site & saw it all as it happened.

Two riders were down. They were medivacted out to Albany Med. One will be okay. The other has serious injuries but (at this time) he is expected to live. This was part of a 108 bike ride to benefit cancer victims. The ride started and ended in Green County.

It was a hell of a day!
