Clinton supporters attempting to unseat Collin County delegates.
It seems that because the county decided to delay its convention a day more, there is a dispute whether the county that voted about 76 percent for Obama will stand up to a challenge by her supporters. The supporters have called for a challenge at the state convention. It is the reverse of what the Clinton campaign has been rallying for in FL/MI.
It was a localized version of the Michigan/Florida debate in Grand Prairie today and ...
Blitzer's lips got into a brutal fight with his tongue trying to get the words "strength" and "John McCain" in a cogent sentence. As difficult as it was, I give him props for getting that job done. Once he got past that line of demarcation, he threw himself back into the "democrats are weak on defense" asylum and locked himself in. Hart just stopped by to bring him his meds.

In the lull between TX and PA primaries, I started noticing that the Obama faithful on the campaign site were getting restless and falling into "Devil's Workshop" territory. So I started thinking (from a purely strategic political view) how to turn all that internal discontent into positive action. So I joined the Obama Supporters Against Hunger and Poverty group and promoted a food drive for specific, politically advantageous areas of Pennsylvania, primarily Pittsburgh's rural outreach. A small...

MrSuper.org is a website which was created in March to debunk myths, offer insight and answer questions about the 2008 Democratic nomination process for President. The author, who has been posting under the pseudonym "Mr. Super" will announce his identity today.
The site was created by Edward Espinoza, an undeclared Superdelegate and elected DNC Membe...
the Clintons have been incredibly proactive in not doing so. They have spent many years battling prejudice and racism. At the crossroads between raw ambition and civil rights, they have chosen the former because it is the easiest path.
That 'elitist' = uppity in the ears of some doesn't make their use of the word racist. It makes their use of the word opportunistic, it makes their use of the word hypocritical, it makes their use of the word the antithesis of everything they have worked their en...

I need to step back a moment to get to my previous statement. Fear is what politicians use to divide the American people and we allow it. George Bush, in his attempt to 'one up' Daddy, took us into Baghdad - not because there was a security rationale for it, but because Americans were afraid. Using that fear, he has managed to strip basic freedoms from us - with our permission (based on a lack of outcry). He didn't hate us or believe Americans were "less than human" just thought we were stupid, ...

She neither hates nor discriminates against people of color (any color) I don't believe, but she is playing upon the fears of those who do. As a politician, it may be fair game. As a human being, not so much.

Parse that to subtract African-Americans (12-percent) Hispanics (15-percent) and you lose 10-percent. In recent votes, an average of 15 percent of 71 percent of whites were lost to Obama OR another 10 percent. So in reality, with 75 percent self-identifying as Democrat, you end up with Obama losing merely 22 percent of total population. And that's bad how?

First of all, none of this will be addressed by the McCain campaign and if the GOP is really, really smart they won't either. Here's why:
1. rezko - this will be brought up
(McCain's) Florida campaign co-chair and state Rep. Bob Allen was arrested Wednesday after offering to perform oral sex for $20 on an undercover male police officer.
GOP Arizona Rep. Rick Renzi -- the co-chairman of Sen. John McCain's campaign in Arizona -- has been indicted for extortion, wire fraud, money laundering and ...

BTW were you a Republican leaner before your son was involved in Iraq? It just sounds as though you may have been. As for me, I think true leadership among Democrats would have given a number of Republicans the "out" they longed for. I do believe many found this war gut-wrenchingly sickening and would have gone with a well-thought-out escape option (such as the Baker-Hamilton Commission findings) had there been the stomach to make it happen. Democrats let your son down, I believe thus no one get...

Mine are in the ground and first tomatoes about 3 weeks from harvest. My neighbor calls me a sluggard because her brother (about 20 miles away) is already harvesting. I started a bunch of plants indoors but had so many volunteers, I'm just sorta letting them hang in pots for a bit. My camera bit the bullet a bit ago or I'd upload some pics. Thanks for sharing yours!

I started last year with just a few tomatoes and some herbs, but this year expanded to include carrots, Brussels sprouts, onion, peppers, peas and cukes. Starting as early as I had to this year, it wasn't only because of food costs but it was headed down the road and seemed a smart thing to do. Anybody else going this route?
NO, not THAT candidate. THIS candidate.

Obama has been justly criticized for his ties to former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers, who in 1995 hosted a campaign event for Obama and in 2001 gave him a $200 contribution. The two have also served together on the board of a foundation. When their connection became known, McCain minced no words: "I think not only a repudiation but an apology for ever having anything to do with an u...

Despite some delays in the tallying of votes from Saturday's Democrat Caucus, in which Guam is playing a key role in determining who will gain the nomination for the race for the United States president for that party, Senator Barack Obama leads Senator Hillary Clinton by a margin that continues to narrow as more precincts report in. As of 12:40am Sunday, 5 out of the 21 precincts had been tallied, with Obama's count besting Clinton's 56% to 44%.
The initial projections were for the vot...

Hence destined to repeat them each. I just get so riled when folks ascribe to "the media" or a specific candidate actions that have been employed and rewarded time and time again - as though it was something shockingly new. We are not powerless against it, just too myopic to acknowledge it in the first place. Political Groundhog Day, no?

Remember the infamous "Dean Scream?" My neighbor mentioned it a couple of days ago as a reason he was such a bad presidential candidate. WTF I asked myself silently. The media determined then that he was unelectable: "The scream scene was shown an estimated 633 times by cable and broadcast news networks in just four days following the incident, a number that does not include talk shows and local news broadcasts." This is neither a new standard nor new behavior. It's just now happening to Hillary...

While listening to the Senate hearings on Iraq with Crocker & Petraeus, I couldn't help but notice how so many Senators cited polls and news reports as intelligence information. I mean aren't there more valid means of gathering security intelligence? Since our top foreign policy leaders depend on polling to make critical decisions regarding wars and such, I don't see why not for something as mundane as settling political disputes.

I would add that it's more fear than corruption and these get played upon in big ways. We have seen it with the Bush administration and others past. We are now in a cycle that pits our two greatest fears against each other and look what's happening. Fear breeds the environment in which corruption thrives.

A lot has been said about the George Stephanopoulos/Charlie Gibson insult to journalism a week or so ago. Barack Obama supporters decry it as non-substantive drivel of topics not remotely of interest to the American voter. Hillary Clinton supporters loved that the "media darling" was taken down a peg or two and muddied in the process.
Truth is, both sides are correct and, moreso, have merit.
If the questions looked like they'd been plucked from a deck of Trivial Pursuit cards, it's because in ...
Bush just announced the stimulus checks are "in the mail," so to speak and I realized that mine is going into the bank until county tax bill comes in. Are you buying stuff or paying bills with yours?
But for its harm to those who passionately support Clinton, I found it an endearing style. I was just making the point that McCain is ideal fodder for your writing style and I believe you would do it some justice. My all time fave HAS to be this one: (Link)/
Tell me you can't lampoon the hell out of that!! Don't kill yourself laughing (I almost did!)
