While listening to the Senate hearings on Iraq with Crocker & Petraeus, I couldn't help but notice how so many Senators cited polls and news reports as intelligence information. I mean aren't there more valid means of gathering security intelligence? Since our top foreign policy leaders depend on polling to make critical decisions regarding wars and such, I don't see why not for something as mundane as settling political disputes.
