Investigative Journalist While authoring Black Box Voting, the groundbreaking book about the secret voting industry, Harris interviewed hundreds of witnesses, including election officials and even voting machine programmers who work directly for the firms that build these machines. It was Harris who discovered 40,000 secret voting system files on the Internet (from Diebold Election Systems), a massive security breach. These files have now been studied by computer scientists around the world, and have resulted in at least four scientific studies identifying "stunning, stunning security flaws."
Harris instigated the first multi-state consumer litigation against unauditable and untrustworthy voting systems. This 53-year old grandmother challenged secretaries of state with court injunctions, and has been fighting the large multinational corporations that dominate voter registration and vote-counting, on consumer protection, false advertising, and false claims charges.Her fee is $6500 + local expenses. (I called). To be fair, she does pay her own air fare, or rather, donors are paying her air fair, so let's not be fair.
