People read into his words what they want to hear. The people in this country are starved for change. Obama talks of change and hope and they envision the particular change they want to see, the hopes they want fulfilled. Nevermind that he can't fulfill all those hopes.

But at least he gets people excited about the Democratic party again.

And having raised hopes, he will be under considerable pressure to at least attempt to fulfill some of them. Especially if we keep the pressure up. If we want real change, we can't look to the politicians to just give it to us. They don't work that way. We have to demand real change. Real change in this country has always come from the bottom.

I'm an Obama supporter. I see him as being more willing to listen to the people when they demand real change than Hillary. I could be wrong. But Hillary is too invested in the status quo, the corporate establishment, the damn DLC. Whichever one wins, we must hold their feet to the fire.
