Unless the world makes a great turning from oil we all are doomed. Check out "What A Way To Go
Life At The End Of Empire". Some great information on the combination of all the concerns of many over climate, oil, food, population, the rich, media, etc.
It's too late to do anything. Yes back in the 60's they were saying that if we didn't correct our path of global climate change that by the year 2000 it would be too late to do anything about it. We are all on this train that can't move away from the track it's on and the only temp escape is denial. Denial is the way to cope with what is really going to happen to us all. Denial also keeps that train moving to its inevitable destination.
Look at what is involved with producing food. Agriculture is the root of the greatest problem. We need oil to produce the amount of food for the population that continues to expand and after that oil production peaks which some say has happened ...well you can go figure. Oh yea ...throw in climate change with food production. The time to control population was back pre civil war.
Amazingly the native indians had it right all along. Hunter gatherers were right but couldn't survive with the onslaught of agriculture. The point was to live with nature. Indeed what we have also lost is our connection to nature. Once agriculture took over population could grow excessively which caused increased demand for the use of power via horse, steam and now oil.
I found this doc film to be excellent with all the points of view it provides from many studied people of note. I highly suggest everyone look at it ...before you keep your denial going and tell me I am wrong.
