I am pretty upset right now after just getting off the phone with my republican mother. To give a bit of background; Mom began to get pretty disheartened with the president around the time Katrina devastated the gulf and then went on vacation. She was distraught over his social security plan as well but what put her over the edge was Dubai.

Tonight out of nowhere she blurted out that she is sick and tired of hearing Bush make speeches over bullshit every five minutes. She said she was disgusted with the republican run congress and had lost trust in them. She asked me why the democrats weren't raising the roof about him. I don't have an answer for her, does anyone else here have one?

It is very frustrating for us to watch but I'm getting the clear impression that Americans think the time has come for democrats in office to step up to the plate.
