Where Are The Weapons?
As soon as the Repukes are held accountable....the Wall Street money starts running for cover in the form of major sell offs.
The DOW dumped 400 points on the uneasy feelings in Washington and Wall Street that the Corporate, uber-rich friendly Bush Administration is about to be tarred and feathered. With the prospects of a protracted partisan battle on DC for the fate of the nation, the investment bankers are cashing in and dumping stocks that look to not benefit from a "bi-partisan" election year congress.
The Big money lobbyists are probably having a hard time getting the money shoved under the door as the congress is taken with lies, contempt and executive power. So Wall Street sent a potent message today that does not bode well for BushCo. "We don't think you can get us our legislation and tax cuts anymore...We are circling the wagons selling off the risk and playing it safe until 2009."
Risky investments are not the place to be when the government it teetering on uncovering 7 years of pandering, political machining of federal agencies and a host of blatantly illegal and unconstitutional activities.
SO here is the connection. It is not oil, energy or weak mortgages and home sales. It is a Weak Republican government that is no longer able to cow-tow to the wealthy. The Republican pandering to the "have mores" just stepped on a claymore and that dog...won't hunt anymore.
The end of Republican rule has come. Wall Street just signaled it in the best way they know...buy cutting and running for shelter.
