Mend's Journal
she said Novartis is cutting 1200 jobs and her company has fired one out of three...one of her fellow reps who has called on me for over ten years was fired on Friday. These were all "financial" republics who said back in 2000 "bush is my boy" and other nausea-inducing blather. Sadly, as they are really bright, pleasant people, if totally self-directed, they are now singing a different song. Honest to God she said, "how could we know bush would be so bad?" My head exploded as I told her they are all bad and out for the top 5% only, not working people. She asked me who to vote for and I said the Democratic nominee...whomever that is, just do it. She said she would.
when he is on vacation...please email countdown@msnbc.com and request her. No offense to current substitutes but Rachel is dynamite excellent.
learn from those of us in the 60's so outraged by his war in Vietnam...forgetting about his war on poverty, starting Medicare, Medicaid, all the civil rights bills...we young Democrats made sure he was thrown out of office. We got our anti-war liberal McGovern to run, we got our asses kicked, ended up with almost two terms of Richard Nixon, fascism, Watergate, tons of repukes in power, a worse war in Vietnam...and many of the good things stopped or gone. Be careful who you throw under the bus. If it is us, all that is left will be them. Be there, done that, and it really sucked.
Ken Starr, 6 years, 55 million dollars, charges that the Pres. and Mrs. Clinton lied under oath. All of this about who would buy airline tickets. But republicans are allowed to start illegal wars, allow NO to drown, completely corrupt our Justice Department, fire US attorneys, no-competition contracts with Halliburton, filthy VA hospitals. My brain is exploding....Hilliary Clinton said there is a vast-right wing conspiracy and I think she is right. They get to do anything they want and we get investigated and hounded over nothing at all. I would like to see a book published on all the presidents and who they had sex with, and that is just volume one.
PETA did an undercover video of the factory farming practices at the Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, S.C. There were articles in "The New York Times" www.nytimes.com/2007/02/21/us/21chicken.ht... and "USA Today" www.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/01/peta_c... as well as "The Washington Post" and local papers and tv. It seems the monks would like to project a happy heavenly egg. They own about 38,000 chickens whose beaks are trimmed without anaesthesia when they are three days old. The hens get crammed into crowded crates for several years, never let out. They are starved up to two weeks at a time to induce molting, a way to increase egg production. When they are finally "useless", they are stuffed into cages to go to slaughter, often causing breaks to their bones. The monks pathetic rebuttal was that the chickens are "happier in cages because they don't catch diseases or get eaten by predators". Wonder what the chickens would say, if they still had their beaks and could talk? And these people tell us about the sanctity of life?
Maggie Fox of Reuters is reporting (see ABC science news) that chimps have been found to be hunting with spears. The females only. The ladies find a branch, strip the leaves off, sharpen the end to a point, and go hunt bush babies. The males don't use tools because "they are so powerful they don't need them". Riiiggghhhht. Bush babies weigh 5-10 ounces. You'd think a female chimp flying around trees with her arms might just be strong enough too. Could be a sensitive issue here: bush=male chimp= too stupid to make a stick.
This man is supremely rich, hundreds of millions of dollars rich. When he speaks about working people, he always says they are not worth their pay. He is referring to the little people: maids and gardeners and pool cleaners and taxi cab drivers. We are talking about people lucky to make at most and usually less than $15 an hour to work hard to clean up his messes. He also thinks the middle people make too much: dentists, mechanics, and the like. He always argues about the cost of a job and always looks for the cheapest estimate. He always argues about paying the bill when the job is completed. He always finds fault and looks for excuses to screw the workers out of their pay. In his estimate, no one except the rich, have any entitlement and his pay scale is reminiscent of slavery. He feels entitled to get goods and services without cost. He will live and die rich, and leave all his money to his kids who will also always be rich. He is a republic and a xian who goes to church weekly. But you knew that already.
In 1974, it was when richard nixon resigned. That should be trend setting and a hopeful goal for all Americans. A special day when repukes give up and go home....the higher the level, the better but all are welcome to leave. A day to become a federal holiday for all of us, not just the post office. Dancing in the streets, joy to the world.
surprise me if he checked into a hospital soon. The health excuse may be his best way out at this point.
I bought my first Mac in the 1980's, an Apple IIe and have been a loyal customer since then. I have had to buy Dell's for my office for program compatibility, but none for several years...all my money has gone to Apple, especially as they are a blue company. Now I would color them puke green. My PowerBook went down in April due to a problem with the battery...I am on the protection plan, this isn't about the money. I sent it in, they repaired it and mailed it back with a broken lid. I re-sent it, and they sent it back with a four inch scratch in the screen. I re-sent them to fix what they had broken, and it appears Apple has run out of screens. A computer company has run out of what is 50% of a laptop. They have had my computer for two weeks, waiting for a new screen...gaacckkkk. I remember when Dell was a very good company, got popular, and did this stuff. Apple has grown too big for its britches, the support people are rude, they just don't care. Anyone know a good computer company, preferably one that is blue?
