I know this isn't the video forum, but I thought Loungies might enjoy this too.... George Bush as Petro Man.... Karl Rove as Dr. Spin....Al Gore as the Green Solution...

Enjoy!

Edited to add:

Dick Cheney as "$" (Dollar Sign) is just too much!

Ah, the journey to 10,000....what a wild, weird one it's been... I joined DU not quite two years ago, and in that time, I've come to know and love you godless librul bastiches... Why else would I have spent my time posting 10,000 times??? Being naughty here is a lot of fun.

And in honor of my 10,000th, a few pictures. Yes, I promised ForrestGump (and others) cleavage pics. And they're here. And flvegan was harping on seeing my sports bra to be able to properly judge the appropriate new style---and it's here. (And yes, it fits like a sausage casing and flattens everything. ) And last but not least, a leg pic---RevActs started a trend....and it's probably the only time you'll see a leg shot of me.

Cleavage:

OK, you can shut up now:

Not the best pic, but you get the idea:

This is a rare occurrence: A leg pic!

Are you comfortable in your own skin? Do you accept or reject your looks? I've seen a lot of discussion (both here on DU and elsewhere) about body image and how girls are made to feel "fat" at earlier and earlier ages these days. Media, especially magazines, portray fantasy images of women that are unrealistic and unattainable for most women. Hell, even models don't look that good naturally---why else would they need heavy makeup, lighting, etc.???

I love my body. Yeah, it may not be someone else's idea of perfection, but so what? I make the most of it, and I enjoy it and take care of it. I wear clothes that play up my best features and don't worry about the rest. Long ago, when I was in my teens, I really wanted to be tall and willowy, but the genetic hand I was dealt made me short and curvy. I came to realize that short and curvy has a lot of advantages, and these days, I'm glad I'm not tall and willowy.

I remember when I was 11 years old and hit puberty, I gained 25 lbs. in a year. However, I also grew three inches in height, which corresponded to the gain in weight. My mother nearly had a stroke and asked my doctor (right in front of me, no less) why I was "fat". My doctor said, "She's NOT fat. She's well-proportioned for her body type." I'm glad he had some sense! I've had some weight issues here and there, but I've had them under control for a long time now and am happy where I am. I'll never, ever be skinny, but that's just fine by me. I'm medium-sized and very happy about it!

RetroLounge's photo thread is getting a little unwieldy, so I thought we'd start another one. Post one or more pictures of yourself (or others, if you're so inclined!) that are your favorite(s). My favorite ones of myself are below. It's nothing new:

I don't know why I like this one so much, but I do:

And this one:

Last one:

And if my sister would ever send me the pictures she took in PA when we visited my dad, there are a couple more I'll post!

On my way home from Atlanta yesterday, I was driving through SC below Greenville on I-85, and there was this idiot in a silver Grand Marquis driving like a jerkoff. Kept speeding up, slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, over and over.... I was driving at a steady speed, but when he was slow, I'd pass him. He'd speed up and pass a whole line of cars (doing about 90 mph), then when he had passed, go slow again. He was talking on his cell phone all during this. I also noticed he had a funky license plate but didn't get close enough to actually see what it said. I got a good look at him one of those times, and he looked like a businessman in a suit (on a Sunday afternoon). I stopped a little further up the road to get gas, and there was a Dairy Queen right beside the gas station. Lo and behold, Idiot Boy was in line at the DQ drive-thru. I wanted to see what kind of a license plate the jerk had, so I got back in my car and drove close enough to read it. Holy crap! It said "UNITED STATES SENATOR" and was a South Carolina tag that was a special design. The only number on the license plate was 1. (Gee, how self-serving...Hoo-wee!!! I'm Number One!!!!) I drove back around to the gas station and filled up, then I hit the road again.

Well, guess who passed me a little while later, eating a DQ ice cream cone AND talking on his cell phone at the same time and not paying attention to the road???? I lost him about half an hour later, thank goodness. I knew SC had only Repuke senators, so I knew it was either DeMint or Lindsay Graham. DeMint is actually from the Greenville area, so I figured it was him. When I got home, I looked up his website, and sure enough, that's who it was.

South Carolina should be proud of its Repuke senators. They drive safely and do such a good job in Washington. Maybe he should have been driving one of the VW Asshats we talked about a few days ago....

Hi, all! I've missed being here this week. Next week will be back to normal.

I'm getting ready to go out to dinner, and I had some fun with my makeup tonight. I guess I was going for the Sex Kitten look---lots of heavy eyeliner and minimal blush and lipstick. I don't normally wear that much eyeliner, but it's pretty cool for a change. In fact, take a look:

Going for sort of a Marilyn Monroe thing in that one. No Seven Year Itch dress, but you get the idea.

And even though the light was terrible in this one, it's kind of a cool effect:

And just in case you were wondering, yes, I've been INCREDIBLY naughty on this trip.

If you don't already have them on your list, the film would do very well there.

bird and the bees? Did they tell you in person, give you books and let you figure it out, or use a different method? My mother tried telling my sister and me about it one night before she tucked us in, and I think I was about 8 (sis would have been 7). She was nervous but did an OK job explaining the basics. When I was 10, she got us the Life Cycle Library, which was actually a very hip, educated, liberal thing to do on her part (would have been around 1973). I read those books from cover to cover, and my basic knowledge about sex came from them. They were thorough, nonjudgmental, and covered everything, including dating and all the methods of birth control available up to that point. My sister and brother read them too when Mom thought they were old enough (age 10 seemed to be that age).

I'm grateful to Mom for doing things that way. I did not grow up repressed or ignorant, which means a lot. When I think about how backward a lot of current thinking is about sex education, it makes me shudder.

I remember the day I first set foot on DU. I though, "Wow! A place where people who think like I do can exchange ideas and information!" Well, from the first time I entered General Discussion, I knew I was in trouble. I ventured into the Lounge a few times and saw that the Lounge a lot more fun than GD, so I stayed.

I remember my first pic posting in early May 2006. I was kind of hesitant to do it, but I figured what the hell... I blew a kiss to the Lounge, and it prompted billyskank to draw me, so it was well worth the pic!

So far so good. I posted a few more pics, including:

The Lounge was still getting to know me. Suddenly in July, an event known as the FReeper Flashing incident occurred, and I posted here! http://www.democraticunderground.com/discu... The Loungers got to know me very well, whether they wanted to or not. A reenactment of the incident appears below. This reenactment is a special new commemorative pictorial just for this post.

REENACTMENT OF THE FREEPER FLASHING INCIDENT

OMG! My robe just flew open!

Oh, NO! Mr. FReeper just got a big eyeful!

(This pictorial reenactment brought to you by the NewWaveChick1981 Neighborhood Watch. )

A few days later, I was traveling for business and getting very punchy, so I posted these pics featuring the FReeper Flashing Robe:

And on my trip to Boston two weeks ago, I took these and posted them:

(Jobycom MADE me post this next one to assure him I didn't have devil horns since I always cut the top of my head off when taking my own pics...)

So that's the story so far in pictures. As an added bonus in honor of MissHoneyChurch, here is a picture of my butt:

Yeah, it's fully clothed. Wanna make something of it? I guarantee you, it looks better without the jeans.

I've gotten to know lots of great people here. Thanks to everyone who has made my time here at DU enjoyable!

I'm a soap girl---never liked shower gels. My favorite mass market soaps are Safeguard and original formula Coast. My favorite specialty/high-end soaps are Lush Alkmaar (DAMN, I love that soap!), Norfolk Lavender Night-Blooming Jasmine and Norfolk Lavender Lavender Soap.

I first bought Alkmaar soap at the Lush shop on Princes Street in Edinburgh on a trip to the UK a few years ago. I immediately fell in love with it! That was when Lush (bath and body boutique) was only in the UK and did mail order through Canada, so when I had to get a Lush fix, I ordered a lot at one time through the Canadian outlet. I had such a Jones for this soap that it's all I used for a long time. I still order it, but fortunately, the US now has Lush shops and mail order. I don't think I'll ever find another soap that's THAT good. Lush makes a lot of other soaps, but not like Alkmaar....
