Please see #1 and tell me how "Vote for Obama or else" is not a threat used to intimidate and coerce, esp for political purposes.

Many of us Progressives would like reasons to vote for Obama that are not terroristic threats of what will happen (war, depression, Palin) if we don't shut up, support, and vote for Obama in 2012. We bought in and fell in love with the ideas of Hope and Change, but have received little reason to support, donate, and vote for it again in 2012. No, I don't want a pony that shits rainbows, but I would be happy with the appearance of trying to deliver something for the Progressive Base. End a war, either war. Hell, don't escalate a war or expand the theatre. Give us healthcare or access to insurance worth a damn. Stop torturing people. Stop giving everything to republicans without a fight. End DADT and DOMA or lean heavily on the Congress to repeal it. Prosecute BP, don't have them over for dinner. Prosecute Bush/Cheney, or threaten to do so and apply their payoffs (see Nigeria) towards the something for those who are out of work. Fuck the CEO's, meet with unemployed people and give them some Hope that times will Change.

All we are asking for is the appearance that your on our side. Maybe then we'll think about voting for Obamain 2012, but threaten us and I, for one, will stay home.
