Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make
their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day I went down town and
into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes and
when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking
ticket.

I said to him, "Come on, man, how about giving a
retired FBI person a break"?

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.

I called him a "Nazi."

He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having
worn tires.

So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo."

He finished the second ticket and put it on the
windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third
ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused
him the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came down town on the bus
and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a
bumper sticker that said "Guiliani '08."

I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's
important to my health.

I've noticed a new trend in celebrity rehabs. Just like with MBAs the amount of time you have to spend in rehab is getting shorter & shorter. It used to take months & months of long rehab sessions to get over whatever demon has you possessed. Now these same rehabs can rid you of those demons in a matter of weeks. It is just simply amazing the progress America has made in the rehab industry. Of course the costs of the rehab is still the same, but who cares if you can be out in a matter of a week or so. Just think of it as the new compressed version of the MBA. It used to take years to get one, but now it is only a matter of months. Oh, the joys of progress.

Here are some recent success stories:

Ted Haggard - cured of homosexuality in just a month or so. I never knew they had that program. Great way to spend that church money those suckers donated to you, eh. You knew it would be so easy. Maybe this could be written in the Bible as a miracle to the power of prayer.

Miss 'Party Girl' USA - Tara Connors - in just weeks she was cured from being a drunken coke head slut to doing the talk show circuit. Thank God the Donald has such a forgiving soul & is way above publicity gimmicks. What would have happened to her if she didn't have such a great boss or wasn't that pretty?

Rush - This poor man was plagued by painful war injuries for years of his life. These injuries came from sitting down for hours at a time and confronting evil liberals and that witch Hillary in the great war against Christmas. To endure the pain he had to take massive amounts of pain killers and spend over $100,000 of his own money. To get over his years of addiction he went to rehab in just months he was cured. Just like the pain killers he bought, he used his own money for the rehab. Nothing but the tax payers on his mind.

Soon we may be all cured of our demons in just days for the right price. Just think of the success stories then.

I checked the email on truth or fiction - http://www.truthorfiction.com / & apparently the exchange between the Senators did take place. I keep getting these stupid emails from some of my RW relatives. I used to respond to them but now I just ignore em for the most part. Wonder where all these crap emails are coming from and where are the left wing emails? Guess we need to come up with some.

edited to add my reply:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/glen...

Apparently it has been floating around for years. A lot of the exchange is real but didn't take place at the time it says it did. The stuff in the beginning of the email was added in 2005 and was not what Glenn said. By the way Glenn was a Democratic Senator from Ohio 1976 till 1999 until he decided not to run again. A real hero in my book. For factual info about Glenn go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Glenn

Just saw in CNN that the 'counter-protest' march is being sponsored by Freepers.
Wonder how many of them will actually show up.

22 more and we will have 100,000. Not sure how many are active, but it is something to celebrate. Could happen tomorrow.

and they are the reason things are not going so great in Iraq. If it weren't for the Democrats Iraq wouldn't be such a mess. Therefore, I propose that all Democrats that are now in the military be replaced with Republicans - especially those who voted twice for Bush. They are the only ones we can really trust. This is the only way to victory. The Democrates are undermining our ever step and most of them don't believe in God anyway. So everyone of them needs to be sent home packing and replaced with real Americans that support our president.

Not only that, but there are thousands of non-US citizens (green carders) now in the military. What's up with that. There is no way they can be trusted. Many of them could be terrorist plants, such as the Hezzbolla scrub or the Ham-mas tree. They too need to be replaced by Republicans and in order to make sure there are enough replacements I propose we raise the enlistment age from 41 to 50. Please send a recruitment letter asap to your favorite conservative such as Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, etc. There are so many Republicans that are not currently serving their country that we could easily man 5 to 6 divisions or more in a matter of months. Like all major operations this one needs a name. I propose - Operation ChickenHawk!! The sooner we get started the sooner we can rid our military of those hell bound cowardly Democrats. Let operation ChickenHawk commence.

Question is:

How do you feel about the reduction in the budget deficit announced by President Bush?

Current results:

It's a good start and shows economic strength 37%

It's not nearly enough to combat the threat to our economic future 58%

Not sure 5%

total responses to this question: 8783

of it. Saw it on CNN this morning, but cannot find it on the net now. Big peace sign was spayed on the Hollywood sign - believe it was on the W - & it could be seen from the highways. The letters are 45 ft tall. They stated that a company had already been hired to paint over it.

edited to change spelling from peach to peace. Guess I had peaches on my mind- I do live in GA -the peach state -
