Iowa is John Edwards country, according to one of his more famous supporters. "He has more of a heartland appeal because he is from the heartland," said actor/politician Ben Jones. Jones, a former congressman from Georgia, is perhaps better known nationally as "Cooter" on the "Dukes of Hazzard" television show. He was in Council Bluffs Friday on behalf of his favorite presidential candidate. Edwards shares Iowa's values because Edwards himself grew up in a small, rural community like many Iowans, Jones said. "I do believe he has heartland values," Jones said.
