Inside the mind of a raging liberal

The rally was sponsored by SEIU (Services Employee International Union) in support of the janitors who have been on strike for almost two months. John Edwards, James P. Hoffa of Teamsters International and Charles Steele of Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Alabama group that MLK Jr. founded also gave speeches.

It was a scorcher yesterday, as you can tell by John Edwards' shirt.

This is James P. Hoffa, son of former Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, who disappeared in 1975.

Charles Steele of Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Alabama group that MLK Jr. founded in the early 1960s. He's been playing a strong role in this fight.

After the speeches, there was a march.

Then Hoffa and Steele walked into the Admissions Building on campus, where the students conducted a 13-hour sit-in one day and attempted a second sit-in the second day, only to be tossed out the building by undercover cops. They wanted to meet with UM President Donna Shalala. But they were not allowed in the building.

EDIT: Here is a press release about what has been going on.
