We have Jason Roe KO's Worst Person in the world. Who is Jason? Well Jason Roe was the chief of staff for Florida Rep. Tom Feeney and was also the campaign manager for Peter Roskam, Illinois Rep. In March of this year, he took a job with Mitt Romney's Presidential Campaign. Jason's dad was a biggie in the Michigan RNC.

Now from Press Think

Feeney aide resigns.

Word broke this week that the FBI is questioning Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) over his ties to criminal lobbyist Jack Abramoff. In related news: “Jason Roe, Tom Feeney’s former chief of staff who had left to serve as deputy campaign manager for Mitt Romney, abruptly resigned from Romney’s campaign yesterday,” citing “familial obligations.” The FBI has said it is focusing on a Feb. 2006 email that Roe wrote to a journalist saying, “Any assertion that this office knew Abramoff paid for the Scotland trip is a g–d—– lie.”

Then from KO transcript

"But our winner--we need to clarify a previous worst. We reported that Illinois congressional candidate Peter Roskam had said his opponent Tammy Duckworth wanted to "cut and run from Iraq" even though she lost both her legs there while serving as a helicopter pilot.

Jason Roe from the Roskam campaign charged us with intellectual dishonesty because Roskam merely said that the Illinois sixth is "not a cut and run district."

Hey, pal, this is about campaigning against a woman who has no legs because they were cut off while she served in Iraq and still being insensitive enough to use the phrase "cut and run." You leave the intellectual to us, we‘ll leave the dishonest to you.

Peter Roskam and staffer, Jason Roe, today‘s "Worst Persons in the World."

and just for added measure Roe's wife Patti appears to be double dipping over in Renzi's office.

Renzi pays Pattie $95,000/year as his Chief of Staff and then pays her $5,000/month to fund raise. This would be illegal except that the $95,000 salary is just a smidgeon under the senior pay scale. It would also be illegal to do that fund raising while she is doing the CoS job but Pattie says trust her, she does it on her own time.

Pattie also got $50,000 from Feeney's campaign (her husband's old boss)

Why is Roe quitting to spend time with his family? Well Roe is all over the paperwork in the Abramoff lobbyist travel investigation for Feeney and Delay. Roe's idea of what the problem is

"As you know, the current environment in Washington is such that reporters are in such a frenzy to write anything about Members' of Congress travel that anything not done absolutely correctly seems newsworthy to them."

Still, Roe believes this is all much ado about nothing. "All this is, is media hysteria," he said. "The media think people care about this. They don't."

I am not surprised to see right wing thinkers attacking the win of Ned Lamont as the Democratic cadidate for Senator from Conn, after all he took the radical rights best friend off the ballot, Senator "Sweet Lips" Lieberman.

What I was shocked to see was who wrote the article and the organization for which he works, a non-partisan think tank supposedly for "fighting terrorism and promoting freedom through, research, communications, education and investigative journalism". It sounds nice, but when you look atthe list of members, it looks like a new home for PNAC, you all remember the group who brought us the war in Iraq, Richard Perle, William Kristol, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney et al.

The membership list some of the names shock me: Senator Schumer you have some explaining to do Sir. I can understand old "Zig Zag" Zell Miller being part of this crowd of lunatics, but you how can you associate your name with the hit piece that Andrew McCarthy wrote on August 11, 2006 located here on the FDD website with your name as a member? www.defenddemocracy. http://www.defenddemocracy.org/in_the_medi...

To quote a few lines

"We are reading only about 24 arrests today. If we were already in the heralded antiwar world of Ned Lamont and the war-against-the-war crowd, it could be much different. We could just as easily be reading about ten jumbo jets exploded out of the sky. Or 3,000 murdered innocents -- mostly American and British citizens.
