Money is Man's Power He Consumes and He Devours Some will take it All And leave the rest to Fall (That's not okay with us at all) One Love I thought this interesting as I recently read an article about employers now adding good looks to their hiring practices. Of course once we reach middle age it is an uphill fight anyway, unless you can afford a new appearance. Then those people probably do not need jobs.
You think you’re beautiful? Socrates seems to say. Well, think again! The idea of beauty, in this world, is like a mistake. An error of thought. Which should be re-thought. Perhaps Socrates’s mission is to make the world safe for ugly people. Isn’t everyone a little ugly, one way or the other, at one time or another? Who is truly beautiful, all the time? Only the archetypes can be truly beautiful. http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/... ![]() American justice system. It is not Justice, it is just them. ![]()

I do not think anything will come of this.
The republican Thomas is part of the problem. His investigation is just for show. Where was Thomas when Derek needed real help so he would not try to take his own life? At least they did not mistake their taser for a gun or he would be dead right now. With all due respect to Derek , I am sorry for this and wish him much love. ![]()

Love it when the people stand up to injustice to animals.
They have no voice or way of protecting themselves. One love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KRD8e20fBo

Cutbacks in health, education and other vital social services around the world have resulted from structural adjustment policies prescribed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank as conditions for loans and repayment. In addition, developing nation governments are required to open their economies to compete with each other and with more powerful and established industrialized nations. To attract investment, poor countries enter a spiraling race to the bottom to see who can provide lower standards, reduced wages and cheaper resources. This has increased poverty and inequality for most people. It also forms a backbone to what we today call globalization. As a result, it maintains the historic unequal rules of trade.

There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children. Most reporters know that the invasion and the occupation have been a catastrophe. They know the Iraqis do not want us. They know about the cooked intelligence, spoon-fed to a compliant press by the Office of Special Plans and Lewis Libby's White House Iraq Group. They know about Curveball, the forged documents out of Niger, the outed CIA operatives, and the bogus British intelligence dossiers that were taken from old magazine articles. But the press, or at least most of it, has lost the passion, the outrage, and the sense of mission that once drove reporters to defy authority and tell the truth.
We are assured by the war-makers that these stories have no bearing on the glorious violent enterprise the nation is about to inaugurate. And, lapping up the myth of war and its sense of empowerment, we prefer not to look. We have become tyrants to others weaker than ourselves. And we believe, falsely, that because we have the capacity to wage war we have the right to wage war. ![]() ![]()

Sadly, the dream of a great society, fair and with opportunity equal for all, is not much discussed these days,
and seems farther off today than it did 40 years ago. It is in the interest of complex management, economic or political, to dumb people down, to demoralize them, to divide them from one another, and to discard them if they don't conform. Any hopes of reform from the current Obama administration seem almost Utopian considering the background of Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, who, while CEO of Chicago Public Schools, ran a reputation of militarizing and privatizing public schools. Talk about avoiding the elephant in the room! Ask any schoolchild why they don't like school and they'll tell you. "School is prison." They may not use those words, because they're too polite, or maybe they've already been brainwashed to believe that school is for their own good and therefore it can't be prison. But decipher their words and the translation generally is, "School is prison." ![]() ![]()

Chris Dodd said , well we don't want to 'punish' Wall Street. Yes we do. Yes, that's exactly what we need to do, because if we don't do it, they won't do anything to change. ... Instead what we did was, we wrote them more checks and said, 'Here. Thanks for stealing the money. Take some more.' I mean that's absolutely the wrong message to send to a thief." -- Michael Moore on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Monday, March 15th, 2010
http://www.youtube.com/user/speciesamused?... Sheila Bair, Elizabeth Warren and Eliot Spitzer are among the smartest and most out-spoken policymakers on how we need to restructure the regulatory frame work of the nation’s financial system and banking industry. In fact I think either one would be a tremendous improvement as Secretary of the Treasury as a replacement for Tim Geithner, who, in my humble opinion, is an industry tool. The Obama administration’s regulatory overhaul plan would incorporate the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision – both of whom have a reputation of regulatory incompetence after its handling of IndyMac — into one national bank supervisor. The FDIC would then handle state-chartered banks and the Federal Reserve would act as a broader referee of sorts, overseeing the largest institutions and monitoring systemic risk. This last point leaves wide open legitimate concerns that the Federal Reserve would remain victim to regulatory arbitrage and influence peddling by Wall Street and the Banking industry lobby.
