I live in the Appalachian area of Kentucky. I think the RAM medical program is great (never used it personally) and the volunteers are truly appreciated. They had a clinic in Pike County, KY this weekend (close to me). But I came across one man's experience at a RAM clinic earlier this year and it is a must read. In the wealthiest country on the face of the earth and health-care has came to this for many Americans. I am still livid after reading his story and as I think about all those fighting universal access to heath care in America! Everyone against it should have to go through one of these clinics to get their health needs met. I know DU supports the RAM program and I'm glad. They are great and this is no criticism at all on them. But reading this one man's experience helps to illustrate the ignorance and down right inhumanity of anybody saying we don't need universal access to health care in this country. I conclude my rant. Please check out the link when you get a chance.
