I would just like to inform one and all that the dire predictions that came from the brightest lights of the Right's pundits, prognosticators, polemicists and pinheads did not come to pass. August 22nd has drawn to a close and the Mahdi has not returned, the world has not ended, thermonuclear devices have not gone off...nothing. Not even a lost order for a Phal at an Afghani Restaurant, as far as is known.

So ends another hard sell of fear. Just about the same way they always end, too:

Bupkis.

You would think they would learn to give it a rest. I am sure that their coming collected works, regarding the above and absolving themselves of all blame regarding their frantic warnings of *DOOM(!!!)* should be endlessly diverting.

So, you may now return to the exercise of your god-given freedoms, like the freedom to hide under your beds in a cooling puddle of your own urine. By doing so, you honor the sacrifices of the troops and the memories of those who died on 911.

Or so they would have you believe.
