Seattle photographer Joshua Trujillo captured what may become the defining image of this week of Occupy unrest — an elderly woman being led away from the mayhem, her face covered with pepper spray. A pregnant woman and a priest were also hit with pepper spray during a march on Tuesday night. You see more photos of the confrontation at SeattlePI.com. (More photos here as well.)

I'm becoming increasingly socialist. I said the scary word.

Today the UK spent £millions to evict travellers from a site that they paid for.

The cost of evicting Dale Farm residents will exceed £20 million. £500k for each family. Something at the back of my mind tells me that if they were offered £500k each they would have moved.

I am screaming at the idea that few see anything wrong about this.

The only valid critiscim of much of the #Occupy movement is that perhaps we could have done something to prevent the damage. YES, even me.

I cannot stop myself thinking, far too little far too late. There was a general election in the UK in May 2010, where were these people? I was nowhere, I was objecting to Neo-Con Labour so I gor real-cons instead.

There were congressional elections in November 2010, where were these people?

Now "austerity" is biting them on the arse to pay for banking bailouts they object, a year after they could have done something.

That does not mean they can be dismissed.

In EVERY Country these protests have sprung up they have gained 2 to 1 support.

#Occupy has everybody involved. Yes FOX News and James O'Keefe

there may be people who say they are socialist or even communist but #occupy is not about that.

This is a fight against corporate welfare at the expense of welfare for the poor, if you think that this is communist then here is a communist traitor.

he Topeka City Council on Tuesday voted to repeal the city’s law against misdemeanor domestic battery, the latest in a budget battle that has freed about 30 abuse suspects from charges.

One of the offenders was even arrested and released twice since the brouhaha broke out Sept. 8.

It started when Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor announced that a 10 percent budget cut would force him to end his office’s prosecution of misdemeanor cases, almost half of which last year were domestic battery cases.

As reported on Kos

the Kansas Bureau of Investigation reported the following:

One Domestic Violence Murder Occurred Every 10.4 Days.
One Domestic Violence Incident Occurred Every 22 Minutes, 0 Seconds.
Law Enforcement Made One Domestic Violence Arrest Every 41 Minutes, 48 Seconds.
The numbers don't improve if you look only at the county and city involved. In 2009, there were 1,968 incidents of domestic violence in Shawnee County, 1,733 of them in Topeka. Only 32.7 percent of those incidents resulted in arrests.

Decriminalizing domestic violence won't reduce the number of incidents—just the number of arrests. So those criminals will go free, except they won't be criminals because the violence they perpetrate is no longer a crime.

Fuck them with the wide stance of Larry Craig.

People want jobs.

If Conservadems hand the GOP their talking point for the night then fuck them. Screw tham. Sack them. What use are they?

Their holding the Democratic majority hostage during 2009 to 2010 did not save their jobs in the House. It will not save their jobs in the Senate.

If even 10% of their demands are going to be legislated it will take the reelection of President Obama and a Democratic Congress.

In 2010 the Country elected Teabaggers to "cut spending", the US and the World economy got spending cuts.

In 2012 you have the ability to undo that. IF those who protest get involved. Action means nothing unless it is linked to a Party. The "Tea Party" knows that. They will never work to defeat a Rethug, even one they consider RINO.

#Occupy is the answer to the Tea Party but it must not become a part of the DNC, as the Paultards allowed the Tea Party to be a wholly owned subsidiary of the GOP. It must be allowed to grow as a voice for progressive America. An angry vociferous presence more powerful than the astro-turfed teabaggers.

If you want to pass a public option and fight the cuts agenda, you have your vehicle. Support it, work with it - make it powerful.

Like a bullet leaving the barrel of a gun, the Occupy Wall Street phenomena has directed a great deal of energy at hitting its target. But as physics dictates, even a slight wind in an unfavorable direction can alter that bullet's trajectory causing it to miss its target entirely. In this case the wind is the corporate media and the bullet is the idea that our current corporate monetary policies have favored the ultra rich while leaving the other 99% to suffer.

Littlecrow is optimistic though. She believes in the possibility of protecting the movement by knowing what we stand for and sticking to it. She hopes protesters will stand strong in the face of corporate media illusions. “This movement is about people,” she says, “not leaders, politicians, television coverage or corporate donations.” Those who decide the direction that this movement will take are the people. When big corporate donors, politicians, and celebrities, speak out in support of the occupation, ask them the tough questions and expect honest answers. Ask them if they will sleep on the pavement with you tonight or of they are willing to be arrested during an act of civil disobedience.

This leaderless movement is about people not astro-turf branding. The lack of attention given to it by the corporate media is inconsequential and unimportant. Those of you holding your breath and waiting for some good network news coverage - you had better come up for some air. The Occupy Wall Street message is against the interests of corporate media and corporations do not willingly/knowingly act against their interest. Ever.

You and Hillbuzz tried to drive me and a number of other blogs off the internet, simply for pointing out the lunacy of the woman you worshipped and you donated money to.

She skanked you for every spare $ you had.

Her supporters then skanked you for any remaining ones.

To say the least, I laugh at every single tiny penny you donated to them. Each and every single cent.

I hope you lost money in your $thousands.

It will serve you right for putting greed and hate before the need to support as what the bible calls "the meek".

Another version just to sing along to.
