I clicked on a post with video of Ed Shultz and when the post came up to the left of the video box was an ad that depicted Our President in white face makeup and red paint on his mouth like a witch doctor It was an ad to repeal his medical bill. I don't mind ad's but on this site I never thought you would allow the defacing of our president. What's up DU?
I agree he should not go on any more shows, fox is not after the truth they just want to be the best P.R. firm that works for the uber rich, corporations and the GOP. Going on fox is an exercise in futility. Do you really think Weiner changed one the mind of any of the brain dead comatose viewers of fox. Anyone tuning in to see Michele Bachmann speak is not of sound mind. It's a complete waste of time.
So I have to "pay the price" (losing a loved one) so that a mentally impaired person can buy an extended amo clip, to facilitate the maximum amount of human carnage without having to reload. Tell me again. ...... why am I "paying the price"?
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) said Wednesday that his new plans to seek reelection in 2012 shouldn't be spoiled by his ill-famed marital indiscretions with the wife of a former high-ranking campaign staffer -- or the ensuing federal investigation.
"We've cooperated" with the investigations, Ensign told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I have never felt like I broke any laws or ethics rules."
More importantly, Ensign said, he didn't want the blemish on his record to carry over to his constituents' confidence in his ability to legislate effectively.
"I believe I still have a lot to offer the state and our country, and I believe just as passionately about a lot of issues," Ensign explained. "I think I can still contribute in a positive light
Keeping the majority Posted by Thornleylv in General Discussion Mon Jan 25th 2010, 11:24 PM I am a democrat from Nevada and so is Harry Reid. The most pressing question I have is why would Nevadans give up the most powerful position in the United States Senate? Right now we don’t need to convince the Senate to help our economy and we don’t need to convince the Senate Leaders to give Nevada a helping hand. All we need is Harry. No matter what you think of Harry Reid or what party you are from if you are a Nevadan then you will benefit from having Harry Reid as the Majority Leader in the Senate.
The biggest GOP guru in Nevada Sig Rogich (who was Ronald Reagan’s top advisor for both his successful Presidential races) knows all to well the importance of keeping Harry at the helm. Sig Rogich is one GOP power player who won't be helping Reid's opponent. Rogich, said Reid's position is good for the state and its major industries, such as gaming. "I am doubtful that anyone can provide as much to Nevada as Harry Reid," said Rogich.
You would think that we had learned our lesson when Nevadans voted out one of Nevada’s most senior Senators Howard Cannon. He served as a United States Senator from Nevada from 1959 until 1983 as a member of the Democratic Party. Cannon was narrowly defeated for reelection by Republican Chic Hecht, (Republican) a one term senator.
Being that Nevada is the leading state in foreclosures, it would be a bad time to do something that is rarely done. Senator Daschle's (Democrat) defeat marked the first time that a Senate party leader had lost a seat since 1952. It rarely happens because it is not the smartest thing in the world to do.
Thank god that Harry Reid is in for the long haul. Reid told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he wouldn't consider stepping aside. He is having a little problem in the polls. 52 percent had an unfavorable opinion of Reid, 33 percent had a favorable view and another 15 percent said they're neutral. (Mason-Dixon Polling & Research).
"I am absolutely running for re-election," said Reid, 70, in a statement. "These are difficult times for Nevada and as the majority leader of the Senate I have been able to take action to address those challenges. But I know there is more work to do to turn our state's economy around and create jobs and I am committed to seeing it through."
Sharron Angle Campaign: Harry Reid 'Intends To Steal This Election'
The Huffington Post | Elyse Siegel First Posted: 10-26-10 02:03 PM | Updated: 10-26-10 02:03 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Huffington Post | Elyse Siegel First Posted: 10-26-10 02:03 PM | Updated: 10-26-10 02:03 PM
Republican candidate Sharron Angle's campaign is accusing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of plotting to steal Nevada's Senate election with decision day in the Silver State just one week away. The campaign provides virtually no evidence to back up the claim, and Nevada's Secretary of State disputes the e-mail's allegations. Cleta Mitchell, attorney for Angle's political operation, asserted in an e-mail to campaign supporters on Tuesday that there is reason to believe Reid is calculating a plan with Nevada's Secretary of State to swipe a victory in the contentious race should he fall short in locking up support for his reelection on his own. (Nevada political journalist Jon Ralston first called attention to the serious charges being put forth by the Senate contender's campaign.) "Harry Reid intends to steal this election if he can't win it outright," explained the lawyer on behalf of Angle. "As a result, we need to deploy literally dozens of election law attorneys and poll watchers to combat these tactics at a cost of nearly $80,00 ." Mitchell went on to explain her understanding of the legalities at issue as it relates to "ACORN-style tactics" she detects being used by the four-term incumbent's campaign: Understand, EVERYTHING we have worked for in the last year could be destroyed by dirty tricks and criminal acts in the next 8 days. As Sharron's first line of defense on these matters I am absolutely committed to making sure this won't happen. What Harry Reid is doing is clearly illegal. Nevada law (NRS 293.700) provides that, "A person who bribes, offers to bribe, or use and other corrupt means, directly or indirectly, to influence any elector in giving his or her vote or to deter the elector from giving it is guilty of a category D felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130." Nevada's Secretary of State's office calls the letter "conjecture and rumor" and notes that "no such complaint has been submitted to this office." In the e-mail, Mitchell also solicited campaign contributions for the Tea Party-backed hopeful in the letter. She said that raising $80,000 was crucial to combat efforts from Reid's "Machine" to "steal" to a victory in his reelection fight. Story continues below Advertisement
I know everyone reading this either will vote or already has voted. But if we all make sure one other sane person votes who otherwise would not have we could pull this out. I will do my part just for self preservation.
I know that 99 percent of those reading these words will vote this election, so encouraging you to vote would be useless. We could really make a difference though if we all take one other person to vote with us.PLEASE. Just make sure that one other sane person votes, and not just your spouse, we could make a difference.

It is incredible how badly people perceive reality when they don’t pay any attention basic, findable, researchable, recoded, provable and logical Facts.
Now you may one of them if you believe that President Obama has not accomplished much so far. This President has Passed historic Health Care bill that has eluded administration after administration. He has brought back two U.S. citizens from north Korea. Stopping a second world depression. Some other minor things like expanding student loans to millions, stopped a war. Wall Street Reform, and raising a family. On top of all of this his shoots baskets with cool people.
But I guess your right he just has spent his capital in the wrong places. It’s not like he prevented an epidemic like the Swine flu or maybe the biggest man made ecological disaster ever or won the Nobel Prize. Yet he did it all while dealing with the worst out lash of hatred I have not seen since nineteen sixty eight. If you think about all the great men who have broken these racial barriers from Robinson to Mohammad Ali or the first kids to integrate the University of Alabama they all suffered great personal sacrifices.
Just like women have told me that they can do what ever I do but with heels on, well President Obama has done everything while being the first Black President of the United States. Talk about Hard.
You might be right though and he might not get eight years, I’ll vote for him, but what a hell of a two years he has had.
