Seriously:
Anyone that can take the world's focus away from 'corruption in the Developing world', and bring that sordid spotlight onto HIMSELF, alone, deserves a greater role on the world's stage, than to be President of the World Bank (cough).
No one else could do so much in support of ... take your pick: - neoconservatism; - warmongering; - sexual office politics!
He's become the Don IMUS of the neo-con scene, in one glorious news-bite...
Rock on! Paul
(sarcasm mode OFF)
Shouldn't that sentence read " The New York Times described the President's description of the failure of last year’s effort to pacify Baghdad as if the White House , its Press Office, the national media such as this paper and its 'ace' reporter Judith Miller, and the Pentagon bore no responsibility." NY Times: always 'there' -- when you want them somewhere else! ZENmud
Don't know: whenever Republicans controlLed the White House, I've lived high in Colorado or faraway Europe ) But I think he invented the post-Presidential talk/lecture mega-fee scene... ZENmud
NB: all dollar figures are 1982-1987 dollars.
How could I talk bad about the man (who earned just over $125K per year as president) who built one of the first FOUR MILLION Dollar ski chalet/mansions at the Beaver Creek resort, the mega-chi-chi daughter of Vail Ski Company? (paid for: by????)
At least his Secret Service detail agreed to watch my $2000. racing bike when I had to work an outdoor concert in Vail, and forgot my bikelock (1987).
Sometime thereafter, I figured out his role in the Warren Commission, and then the pieces started falling together... :-?
RIP Jerry...
The threats towards funding Sunni insurgents invite reflection as to possible 'second phase' counter-threats, not necessarily by us, the US. If Saudis actually wanted to do this, they would have done it already. Broadcasting their intention, seems to create a buzz that would be useful - in a backhanded way - to giving Bush the Lesser a b/tchslap across his face, as the angst ripples through his beloved petroleumEconomy. Saudis couldn't possibly want to use Iraq as a warzone against Iran, who certainly would step-up any support to Shi'ias in response to this hypothetically-proposed Saudi act. The pressure, as generated by world response to the incredible Fuckuper-in-Chief: Bush the Lesser, is going to overwhelm him probably: between now and March 2007, look for him to redefine 'Deer in the Headlights'. (Watching Stone's film "NIXON" as I type this '...a 19yr-old kid, she said it's a Wild Beast') On my blog, I produced the day-count for US involvement in WW II, based on December 7, 1941 as a starting date, and September 2, 1945 as its endpoint (Surrender of Japan); although December 9, date of the last official Declaration of War, is arguable against the 'surprise' attack at Pearl Harbor. That is 1365 days, or: 3 years, 8 months, 26 days. Many media mentions today of this 'event', but why do they say 3yrs/8mo - without the 26 days? :-? By my published calculations, Bush the Lesser will drag us past the WW II duration, on or about December 16th. See No Mission AccomplishedcrystelZENmud: Macrovisionist commentary
Let's start here: it took the Republican party, after the Watergate-Carter 1970s, about 14 years to build a grass-roots network that enabled their 1994 Contract with (or “On”?) America, which allowed them to break the long, dominant stretch of Democratic Congresses, enabling their half-generation of anti-Clinton, and PRO-Bush majorities in Congress. It took Howard Dean, former front-running Presidential candidate*, only TWO years. Read MORE??... Taking out the man that united the party, and the woman that is destined to lead the Democratic Congress, are simple ASSASSINATION attempts, clean, useful 'preventative medicine' for the 2008 Republican political efforts to retain the presidency... Following Bartcop, Buzzflash and DemoUnder religiously, and I have to add: I didn't see Carville's name once (unless I've ignored him) in the last three months, until!
All of a sudden he's out on a rampage against Dean. I have no problem if he's trying to get back into work after being laid low by his wife's team, but he should have been supporting the DEAN team earlier. IOW: I'd like to see evidence of correspondence between Carville and Dean/DemNatComm showing what Carville's insinuating, and what the Dean response was...
Other than that, I'd dismiss him.
Never forget the power of the media to sway your thinking into its framework on any issue...
Great news, hope he doesn't get extradited to Den Hakke... (Little cartoon - might want to share it) ZENmud
Does it feel like the 18th breach in the 'dike' of State, for Bush/2006? http://crystelzenmud.blogspot.com/2006/10/... WARNING: link is to a rather harsh, satirical cartoon... Gingrich is sadly wrong, badly wrong, madly wrong... there's no excuse for Foley's discussing masturbatory techniques with anyone underage, for starters, not to mention those in subordinate staffing positions (even if not directly 'underneath' his own office)... Hi and thanks... Am trying to boost visitors, so send lots of links to your friends and fellow Rational Realists... Thanks for taking a look, ZENmud
Hi anyone, I started a blog sometime back. I did this photoShop personally. I'm 'ready' for the party to start... Hope you enjoy it: see entry 'Certitude is not the test' (second post for Weds) http://crystelzenmud.blogspot.com / ZENmud
