I heard this afternoon that my oldest cat, Peppercorn, is suffering from kidney failure and will likely not live much longer. She's 17, so it's not unexpected, but it's still hard to deal with. I think it's more important to remember good things than bad, though, so I'd like to see pics of any DU pets, and maybe some good stories.



The stuffed cat used to be mine, but was "appropriated" to different ownership.

If anyone else wants to chime in on this, that's cool by me, but mostly I wanted to make a public acknowledgement of my smart, beautiful, wonderful girlfriend and how much she means to me.

I love you, sweetie, and thanks for making such a great difference in my life.

I think this might be worse than my Karma Chameleon spree back in October. I'm ready to head for Venus at this point.

And my girlfriend is 20.

Yes...that is me (and others, but they're not imporant, just the rest of our College Dems E-Board ) with Dr. Gov. Mr. Howard B. Dean III, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Today, less than three hours ago. And...I was on stage with both him and Senator Mr. Democratic Whip Richard J. "Dick" Durbin (he had to leave before the picture ). It's not even the end of the first quarter and this is already the best year for our organization ever. We are THE group to beat on campus.

I shook both their hands...twice.

Extra brag: E-Board (that is...all of us in the picture, myself included) got to stand *on stage* with both Durbin and Dean as they spoke.

I've come full circle. My DU username was inspired by my Halloween costume in 2004 and in 2006, my Halloween costume is my username.

I was there for fifteen minutes, but I'm getting paid for an hour, so for one day, my going rate was $40/hr.

I have to get my original social security card (my dad has to mail it to me from New Mexico ) and then it takes a couple of weeks to get me in the system, so it'll be about a month before I actually get paid , but that's OK, because I have cash enough to keep me afloat until then.

My boss and all the other people in the office are really nice and I get a nice little portion of private desk space (not a real office , but oh, well, I'm just a student ). I also get a lot of leeway into what I want to do . Tomorrow I go back at 10 AM before class and get trained on how to lord it over the peasants in the dorms (of which I am one...technically ) with control of their movie channel .

I am now officially a web developer for university housing, making $10/hr.

If you can't get into the DePaul University housing site, it's probably my fault and I'm sorry.
