1980 election. As such, he participated in the ( highly treasonous) "october surprise" visits to Madrid and Paris where he and several other Raygun operatives negotiated with Iranian representatives to hold the American hostages in iran until after the elections were held. Later, this was extended to keep the hostages i=until after Raygun was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 1981. This was all documented by Gary Sick in his book "October Surprise" and various other books. The first Pres. Bush may also have taken part int hese negotiations.

weeks. Ever since he anointed Mayor Giuliani last year as the next republican savior he has been trying to get back in the good graces of the texas redneck crowd. Many texans harbor the belief that when texas joined the union it reserved the right to secede if it wants to, which is of course false.

Those in high positions of power who made the initial decision to torture should be brought to trial and made to answer for their decision. If they are not prosecuted, it will leave a very dangerous message for the next right wing neocon government (if there is one).

the economy worsens and people become more desperate for relief, they will begin to DEMAND action, not just go along with it. This will give Obama a unique opportunity to act boldly with sweeping change, including much control of the economy by the government. He must act fast, however, because if these measures don't bear results by November 2010, the repubs could sweep back into power as they did in 1994.

as a leader of republican ideology if not the republican party. Since limbaugh has such a massive number of stations which carry his drivel on a daily basis, and his rantings are so laughable and at the same time nauseating to all rational listeners, this is a very good strategy. All a person has to do is tune in to one of rushbo's shows and they will see the true face of the republican party. I just wish his illicit activities in the Dominican Republic and elsewhere would be investigated more thoroughly.

With the government acquiring majority status in many of the failing banks (read nationalization), and massive new programs designed to provide health care for all, socialism sould be just around the corner, much to the chagrin of the repubs.

conservatives. There will always be people that want the status quo, and people that are willing to sell their principles to whoever can afford to pay for them. There have always been conservatives and probably always will be, the best that can be hoped for is that they do not acquire political power and are kept in the minority. Someday, maybe reason will prevail and they will creep back into the hole they came out of.

did in order to rescue America from this depression. FDR, as good as he was, didn't really have a clear idea of what he wanted to do or needed to do to reverse the effects of the economic depression, Obama does have a clear vision of what he wants and needs to do. Most of FDR's relief measures were declared unconstitutional by the repub supreme court, which helped to prolong the depression, and they will be Obama's chief roadblock to real economic change. The repubs now generally have a 5 to 4 majority on the court, including the Chief Justice, Roberts. It might be hard for Obama to win over another vote on the court to get a 5 to 4 majority.

republican party is a wounded animal. Just let a single terrorist attack happen in this country and you will hear all the right wing talking heads scream that Obama is not protecting America. It will be a veritable roar, and most dittoheads will agree. Of course, Bush was given a free pass for 911, but not Obama. The repubs will stop at nothing to destroy Obama and his social agenda.

do not consciously realize it. Many of these republicans have decided to "embrace" blacks and other minorities as long as they are conservative. Limbaugh having justice Thomas perform his third wedding, or the repubs having Gov. Jindall give the response to Obama's address are designed as a smokescreen to cover their racist views. Dittoheads have such a sense of inferiority that they have to put down anyone they see as inferior to them, which usually includes minorities and the poor.

That was just after 8 PM Central time. I knew there was no way Mccain could win without Ohio, so they might as well declare Obama the winner at that point. Florida, Virginia, Indiana, and later North Carolina was just icing on the cake.

republican party will have to dig itself out of. She is like the hubcap that comes off your tire and goes rolling down the street. You have no control over it and you don't know where it will go.

that they had to run as republicans. The American people have finally woken up to the fact that republicans lie, cheat, and steal, and not much else.
