In terms of Ebay - I have bought and sold (in the early years) on Ebay since its inception. I can tell you, now that everyone and his brother is now aware of Ebay, they believe it's a real money-maker; it isn't. Nowadays, it is very commercial. Most items are sold from close-out companies. I know bec like I said I used to sell in the early years when there were hardly any commercial companies. I used to go to garage sales and pick up stuff and sell it and did pretty well. All has changed. ...

ARTICLES, OPINION, AND ESSAYS.

Thomas the Tank: The US needs you.

I have posted this suggestion/idea before, but it is definitely germane to the gas price situation that I believe will not get better soon and I really think we should be pursuing other means of transportation.

Anyone who has ever been to Europe has had the unique experience of riding their rail system which is great. Their trains go to every nook and cranny of almost every country. Just walk out of your house, down the street and grab the train.

I am think we should seriously explore this as a solution to paying at the pump. Why can’t we have a type of commuting system w/ high-speed (186 MPH) trains? We could have excellent transportation, inexpensive commuting and new jobs!

Because I am disabled, it is difficult for me to write a long post. But hey DUers, what do you think? I think it would be a great issue to run on in the congressionals or 2008.

Here’s what the TVG French trains look like. Nice, eh?

The focus of the CIA Leak is NOT Valerie Plame.
It's the fake buildup to war in Iraq.

The Five Paradoxes of America's Iraqi Invasion

Given George W. Bush's religious credentials, one would imagine that as a result of the Iraq invasion, Iraq would be a more welcoming environment for Christians. One would also imagine that women would be more liberated, that ethnic cleansing would be less likely to occur, and that free elections would make Iraq a model democracy. According to this analysis from France's Le Figaro, in making such assumptions, one would be wrong. But if America withdraws …

Iraqis Should Stop Supporting the Occupation

Should those Iraqis that favor the U.S.-led coalition give up hope of an American victory? This op-ed article from the Yemen Times suggests that if the American track record is anything to go by, it might be time to choose another path.

Bush and His 40 Liars!'

Is it possible that the President of the United States and his advisers are caught in a web of lies, struggling in vain to extricate themselves from the horrific damage wrought by those very same lies? This op-ed article from the Tunis Hebdo of Tunisia warns: 'Lie away gentlemen, lie like you breathe. But no matter what you do, sooner or later, you will be exposed!'

We Tried to Warn Cheney About Iraq, But 'He Wouldn't Even Listen' ...

BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson recently recalled an interview he conducted some three years ago with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal, shortly before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. At the time, Prince Saud predicted the myriad disasters he believed would follow such an invasion: U.S. and British troops would be bogged down in Iraq for years; there would be civil war between Sunnis and Shiites.

"And what do the Americans say when you tell them this," Simpson asked him. "They don't even listen," Prince Saud said. When Simpson asked Prince Saud why he thought the U.S. was so determined to invade Iraq, he said he had put the same question to Vice-President Dick Cheney who had replied: "Because it's doable."

Prince Saud was not alone in predicting the likely consequences of an invasion of Iraq. American and British diplomats specializing in the Arab world issued their own warnings and were duly chastised.

WHAT FREEPERS ARE SAYING

Please Note: This blog has the right to remove all and any neo-con spamming. No, we don't watch Faux News or listen to OxyRush for the facts.,

4/14/06
Wow! After Watergate, I never thought that I would see this again. What am I talking about? Was lurking today and the Freepers are actually calling for the removal of Fitz. Oh yeah.......shades of Nixon removing Archibald Cox. Guess the Freepers didn't get the memo! Game over folks!

They hate Rudy and Jobn McCain.

Freepers going wild about immigration bec they know that the Mexicans won't be Repub.

You know the movie Zero Hour: The Last Hour of Flight 11 or is it 93? Well Freepers are so happy w/ this and think that a special channel should be devoted to 9/11. Are they sick or what?

Ge this. EXXON CHAIRMAN GETS $400 MILLION RETIREMENT PACKAGE AMID SOARING GAS PRICES. Freepers think this is very cool and that gas will got down to $1.50/gallon. What are they smokin?

Oh this is good.

Editorial on Freeperville: GOP drops felony charges for illegals

Wiggin' out over this one.

"Spineless, gutless cowards afraid to do what's right. They are part of The Enemy Within, rotting out the social and moral fabric of America. Blech"
LOL! The ONLY reason the Anglos are scared is bec they know that Mexicans are going to vote Democrat. Read 'em and weep!

Freepers are SO turning against Shepard because he told the truth on Faux News. Said the generals were talking about how bad Iraq is. Shoot the messenger. Go figure.

Cheney Gets $1.9 Million Tax Refund

Freepers think this is just fine and dandy. After all, he donated so much unlike Kerry.
Are these people insane? Don't answer that!

KATHERINE HARRIS TRAILS SEN. BILL NELSON BY 30 POINTS IN FLORIDA
Freepers can't let go of Harris. It's over. Go home Cruella!

4/16/06

The Rasmussen Poll (very conservative) has * at his lowest ever 39%. Freepers are not happy bec they can't "shoot the messenger"...usually they like Rasmussen. They are blaming the low polls on the gas prices, immigration and the generals calling for Rummy's resignation. They are very alarmed that the Dem ads for the Congressionals will feature all the generals saying Rummy must go. Poor babies!

The no-fact Freepers are so afraid of the Dems taking their guns away? Since when did any Dem take ONE gun away? Never. In fact, the irony is that in the aftermath of Katrina it was the Republicans who took guys away. Bang!

Freepers not too happy w/ Bush:

From a disgruntled Freeper (one of the many) - 'At the end of 2005 I decided to never throw away my vote again on Republicans after the first term of G W Bush only got tax cuts done for a domestic agenda, followed by the MISERABLE failure of his 1st year of his 2nd term. G W Bush is already as lame as a lame duck can get and the Republican Party is taking their cue from him and sucking big time. Government is larger than ever, the federal budget is $2,800,000,000,000.00! NONE of this is acceptable with Republicans in control of the House, Senate and White House. All spending bills have flown across Bush's desk with nary a veto. The only thing Bush has threatened to veto was giving port management to that UAE company!

No movement on reducing the size of government.

No reduction in spending.

No privatization of Social Security/Medicare.

Come to think of it, since the Social Security maximum income is now $94,200 from last year's $90,000, I've BEEN HIT WITH ANOTHER TAX INCREASE.

THANKS A LOT BUSH!

Freepers never did like Simple Scotty, but their choices for replacement are laughable. Take Ann-the-Man Coulter, Rummy or Hannity. They are definitely drinking the kool-aid.
Of course, as usual, they never get into "why SS resigned or got fired." That is too heavy for these neo-cons. So they must talk about a replacement. NO ONE, NOT one of them every talks about how the "all the president's men" are falling left and right. No, that is too close to home. So they live in their little innocuous bubble trying desperately to paint a new picture. It's pathetic.
--------------------
4/20/06

Now this is funny. Neo-cons are blaming Dems for the increase in gas prices. Oh yeah, saying it's the Dem's environmental policies that are causing gas to be so high. Let's see, when Clinton left office, the price of gas was about $1.00. Were the evil Dem environmental policies intact then?

Then there is this old standby - "well the Europeans have been paying $5+/gallon for years. Stop your whining!" Well what the Freeps forgot to mention is that Europeans get more than just gas for their money, like national healthcare for one.

THE RUMORMILL

Remember there need be no reference for the following. Gleaned from reading and hearing "stuff.": (Just rumors, gossip and allegations). Let's see what comes to fruition.

4/14/06
Bush and Cheney: on the outs
Bush and Poppy: barely speaking
Condi and Rummy: on the outs
Simple Scotty: Gone by next week. Contrary to the rumors that Josh Bolten who replaced Andy Card is replacing him smells of a Rove leak), I think SS has already given his resignation. They want you to think he is being replaced, but he is bailing.
Andy Card left because the heat was on.
Colin Powell left because he got sick of the lies. (especially about the aluminum tubes that * knew were bogus).
Karen Hughes "hiding" overseas.......doesn't want to face the music.
More rumors that the dick, Cheney is resigning. Watergate deja vu all over again.
Snow and Barlett to go by the summer.

Ralph Reed is in trouble. Every week brings a new revelation about the millions in dirty money Reed earned by duping his fellow evangelicals into putting their political muscle behind "Casino Jack" Abramoff's gambling clients.

Is Ken Mehlman gay:
What if Ken Mehlman is gay? Would he be sitting down with the editors of the Washington Times? Would GOP governors still think he is the sharpest young strategist to come along since the late Lee Atwater? Would his sexual preference disqualify him from heading up the RNC in the minds of the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, and the American Family Association's Rev. Donald Wildmon?

Who cares, except for the fact he represents "mr family values?" Ahem.

There is a person who works at the WH that has a very cool blog about the inside secrets. Believe it or not!

Donald Rumsfeld needs to wear iced underwear because of some medical condition, and he has his secret service detail hold his spares. He was recently getting uncontrollable long-term erections and had to change up his medical treatments. The underwear and the erections is why he uses a standing desk, not because he is some super-man. He also wears nylon stockings, not because he's gay, but to control some vascular problem with his legs which causes him intense pain.

President Bush uses anti-depressant medication, a lot of it, at a stupendous dosage, and he is hiding it from the American public. This is the real reason he stopped drinking. Because of the dosage, he is also impotent.

President Bush, when dining at the white-house, does not eat any item of food which has not been first sniffed by a trained dog before being prepared. Think about that.

Dick Cheney has chronic gum problems and his breath smells like shit as a result. He is also a CLOSE TALKER. He keeps a small bottle of diluted hydrogen peroxide which he rinses with every hour on the hour, and he swallows it instead of spitting. He also picks his nose vigorously (violently) and hums loudly and tunelessly to himself while taking shits.

Word among the staff is that Cheney was drunk when he shot that lawyer, and secluded himself for a day to sober up and avoid felony firearms charges. I don't have any direct information on this because the guys with him at the time are not talking. This is totally unconfirmed, but I think it is plausible.

The White house is planting its own men among the press agents at press conferences.

Rove will be indicted soon.

Miers is getting the boot.

Kerry will probably run in 2008.

Don't think so.

Just mention Mexican immigration @ Freeps go wild.
Mention (it's a fact) that 40% of illegal immigrants are from other countries. Come here w/ a visa and stay.

Why blame the Mexican people? Why doesn't * talk to his amigo, Vincente, and tell him to. take care of his people. Unemployment in Mexico is 40%.

The next time some dumb Freeper talks about the price of gas in Europe and how "lucky" we are, just remind them that Europeans don't just get gas w/ their money, they get national healthcare and other things as well.
